Anyone fitted an aftermarket undertail?
Posted by: gtb01 - 27-11-2000, 03:02pm - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (5)

I have been asking around for an aftermarket undertail or fender eliminator or what ever they are called. Can't seem to find anything in Australia.

Has anyone here fitted one? Where did you get it?

Cheers,
Guy

Lycra Lad Lights Up !!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well a little birdie told me that Richard has fessed up to being the phantom Lycra Lad. Good on ya Richard for coming out. I don't understand your reaction though...no one named you and also your board hangs it on my name, my business and any thing else you can find, but if so much as a joke is uttered at your expense you light up like a light bulb............ now we all know you are not allowed to REACT and man thats reacting big time. Damn I wish I had a pic though the mental image is killing me. Come on Richard it's all in fun, your skin needs to be thicker than your lycra. LMLAO Love Boss
p.s. Were they really pink ones ?

!! Lycra Limerick !!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now some may think it's kinky
And some may think it's class
But I believe it's my right
To display my lycra arse

Times they are a changing
No longer a crime is gay
Being so has it's advantages
Double the chance to play

Also cost effective
As my girl and I can share
We only need one wardrobe
But I've got longer hair

Indeed it create's it's problems
As at times our colours clash
Once I tried the spandex one's
But found they gave me quite a rash

So if and when you see me
Please don't think I'm flirty
The only reason I'm in pink
Is because my black one's were all dirty

And Richard please don't spit ya spandex, take this with the fun intent as with which it is posted. Damn shame when you even have to make a statement that a joke is a joke. Boss

 CHAIN MAINTENANCE ????
Posted by: busababy - 23-11-2000, 07:23am - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (9)

How do you clean your chain?
How often?
How often do you adjust it?
What sort of lubricant(s) do you use?

 Lowering Links are finished...Finally!!
Posted by: Superbusa - 21-11-2000, 02:23pm - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

The Kennedy Machine lowering links are finished. They are totally adjustable to lowering the motorcycle from stock height to 3" down for drag racing. You can adjust the dog bones in about 2 minutes. No bolts or pins to out like the kind with 3 holes in them.

 Splitfire Plugs
Posted by: BigMac088 - 18-11-2000, 11:28am - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

Anyone using Splitfire plugs in the busa?

I used them in my '94 CBR1000. Biggest difference was that I never needed the choke after fitting them and mileage increased slightly. They are claimed to increase power but I never checked this out.

They also claim to last 100,000 k's (bought them in the USA so I don't know if the same claims re made here.) Don't believe it! I pitched them out after 30,000. Still better than standard plugs but hardly 100,000.

Any other thoughts?

 Slick 50
Posted by: BigMac088 - 18-11-2000, 11:22am - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

Any thoughts on Slick 50?

I ran it in my previous CBR1000 for about 5 years and the bike seemed to run more freely.. less internal friction I guess? .. and at each oil change the old oil wasn't black and but retained the original "colour"?

After 64000k the Honda engine dyno'd at pretty much the same power output as it had at 11000k when I put the Slick 50 in. I don't know if it's fair to attribute this to Slick 50 but it obviously didn't hurt the engine at all.

The only other thing non standard on the bike was splitfire plugs. I've another thread for those...

I am pretty certain I will add S50 to the busa next oil change and I was wondering if anyone else had used it or similar?

 Mileage....

Mac,

I have never been impressed with my Mileage, andthere are certainly those who appear to be getting significantlybetter. (Some talk of 17s and 18s on some ride days). I reach15s per litre on a good day (or 16s if only one-up).

 How many k's per litre?
Posted by: BigMac088 - 16-11-2000, 11:32pm - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (13)

At the risk of starting another war, here is another thread foryou all to chew over.

Since having the bike modifiedearlier this week I have noticed I am getting about two kay'sper litre more than previously.

I am curious. Whatare you guys getting per litre on average? Me - around 15.7kpl

What fuel are you using? Me - Optimax or similar

Apart from riding habits, anyone have any ideas on gettingbetter mileage?

Do additives like Slick 50 help?

 Resistors

BigMac

"The resistor mod involves removing the clutch and various bits and pieces, digging into a sealed sensor unit then removing the CORRECT resistors."

I have not heard of this one at all - I am curious. Even though you did not do it yourself (did you? the implication was that you didn't), how did you find out about it? What is the resistor - what is accomplished?

I like your highlighting of CORRECT. I probably wouldn't try a mod like this on my own, and I would still question if I had pulled the correct resistor - hey I had someone knowledgable with me when I did the pink wire mod, just to reassure me that I had the CORRECT pink wire

Anyway, if you could enlighten me further, I would appreciate it.
