pair valve block off plates

Leonard, I think you're having a lend of me here because I know that you know.

It simply injects a bit of air into the exhaust headers to help burn excess fuel and lower exhaust emissions.

K8 are different no more injecting air into the exhaust headers, don't have them on mine unless they forgot to fit them Lol2
Maybe they inject it elsewhere (head or throttle bodies) Confused
I will have a look one day Pi_thumbsup

so you could leave it there - it will just back fire yes? is that backfire due to the pair or not having the bike tuned for the pipes?

Raz,
You could leave them there, I got rid of mine because no one was game to ride close behind meRoll And I got sick of the noise.

Gaz - hmm, well if its not going to cause damage I'll leave it & try it for a bit - if I am finding the same I'll probly rip it off as well.

Simmo, bring it over this w/e and we'll whip the head off and take a look!

It is there Simmo.
The injectors go in over the top instead of near the exhaust ports.

The big question is - Is there any point in removing it or blocking it off?

I've never seen any benefit listed except that by taking it off, it reduces the weight of the bike...

On a K8, removing it will also upset the fueling because the ECU expects the readings from the exhaust sensor to be giving it readings after the PAIR has done its work.

An aftermarket exhaust with less backpressure will pop and burble on overrun if the pair system isn't plugged,
02 sensor only realy works at closed loop when cruising

+1 for this mod
I just tried this method on my 03. I just silver soldered the tubes near the flange. Worked a treat.
