Well check out the latest Streetbike Magazine.................. Gives figures of 170 plus Hp to 178 Hp with mods .............Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm now I'm sure some bucket mouth, some where along the line accused me of creating false figures "Shayster Ponies" I believe was the term used, when I claimed the exact same figures. Wonder if the mouth shall be as quick to put up an apology ? Anyway it's good to see, and also lets owners have a good idea on what to expect in results, when they shell out there dollars for the mods. Boss

Hi All,
I wanto do some tweaks to the Busa. I have a few questions i hope someone has the answers to before i attack it blindly.
Firstly, what is exactly the airbox mod? is it simply removing the flap visible when you take the aircleaner out??.
Secondly, the standard cans have hex headed bolts out back that are tack welded onto the stainless covers. If these are neatly "untacked" and unscrewed can the internals of the cans be pulled out/gutted?
I wanto cut the rear flap shorter, has anyone done this and had trouble with rego?
Is there and easy way to shorten the arms of the rear blinkers?
and last but not least, how easy is it and how much does it cost to remap the onboard computer to exhaust and intake changes. I wanto play with the stock system before i goto a 4>1 system ( and when i can find a set at a reasonable price)
Cheers,
Jessie

All-Moto correspondence of the month: “I think I told you about a case I had, defending a rider who was charged with riding in a manner dangerous to the public as a result of doing a 50 metre wheelie at 11.30 on a weekday morning down the highway, in front of two cops in a divvy wagon. The magistrate convicted him, but a Supreme Court judge allowed the appeal. He accepted that because there was no one else immediately in front of or beside the rider, there was no danger to the public. The Crown ran the argument that he should have been found guilty of riding in a manner that was inherently dangerous. My response was to argue that the evidence was that he could still steer the bike by weight transfer, could still brake by using the rear brake, and the bike was obviously stable because it would have fallen over otherwise. The judge agreed that there was no evidence that the wheelie was inherently dangerous. He also accepted that it would be unfair to send the matter back to the magistrate for the police to lead more evidence, and accepted with some interest the copy of an article from 'Performance Bikes' (UK) December 2000 'The Weighting Game' which analysed cornering, wheelies and stoppies by the application of Newtons Laws."

Had a ride day at phillip island on my 99 busa its got 5000ks on the orig tyres and achieved a 2.01.4 lap time. I consider my skill level somewhere in the middle, not a racer but serious enough to have a go! Any one had their busa down at the island that would like to fess up how we went.Dont wish to start internal qualifing, but it would be interesting to find out the skill levels of our club.Interesting my lap was 28 seconds slower than a v8supercar but felt faster!thanks

Hi All,
I'm after your input on a Ventura Bike rack system. Any of you have one fitted? Limitations, problems, how much did you pay etc....... I know there has been an issue for these on our bike, but both my wife and I are under 70 kgs a piece so am willing to put one on anyway. Thanks for your help,
regards

I would like some more info on issues with synthetic oil. Specifically on how damage may be caused using synthetic. I vaguely remember conversation in Sydney about oil avoiding hot spots and something about damage to top end clearances. Anyone? Col? Peter? regards - Jim

clunking noise in front end |

I have a year old Busa with 5,000 km on the clock. Im loving the bike but find an annoying noise from the front end - like a hollow clunk sound, over certain bumps. Ive checked the fairing as best I can and cant detect anything. The steering damper has some play but does not make a noise as far as I can tell. I guess its either in the bodywork or in the forks.
Has anyone come across this problem and found a solution? bye, fenda
