headlights
Posted by: Fast Freddy Gassit - 09-05-2001, 06:49pm - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

hi all
what would be the largest wattage hi beam and low beam globes one could fit to a busa, bearing in mind the alternator output and also that the headlight is plastic, not glass.
I am sooo slow that my rides end up with me coming home long after the cows.

 TPS Adjustment
Posted by: ardvark - 08-05-2001, 07:19pm - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (10)

I have read that the throttle position sensor correctly adjusted can greatly improve throttle response down low... Does anybody know how to get the ECM into dealer mode and check this adjustment. And while we are on the topic, does anyone have a list of ECM fault codes and their definition?

By the way... my Hayabusa has to be the most exciting machine I have had the pleasure of owning... Have put 17000 km on the clock since xmas... I just love to ride it.

 Bronze & Clutch
Posted by: James - 08-05-2001, 06:17pm - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (3)

Unfortunately I have restriction on my brief that states I am unable to ride a certain bronze busa for some time. The fact that it also says cars, trucks and articulated vehicles are also on the restricted list is besides the point. So I have decided to pull it to pieces and play for a while.
1/. Anyone seen a bronze Busa with bronze wheels?
Comment and thoughts please.
2/. Advice as to where the quality and colour matching
has been successful.
3/. The clutch torque converter needs to be welded.
Who, where etc?
4/. Mechanical cam tensioner availability in
Melbourne?
5/. Anyone running the new Dunlops (race replica)?
6/. Any loss off low or mid range with air box mod?

More work to be done but this will do for starters.
Any assistance with any/all of these would be appreciated.

 5th - Neutral - 6th
Posted by: johnl34 - 03-05-2001, 07:37pm - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (7)

My busa is 18 months old and from day one when gear changing from 5th to 6th i have found neutral. Not on every occasion, i'd say an average of twice every 30 gear changes. I have learnt to live with it always being conscience of changing to sixth, it's just second nature now.

Yesterday, while out for a spin I changed to sixth and about 4 seconds after the gear change my bike dropped out of gear finding neutral. This is the first time this has happened.

Has anyone experienced either of these problems before? I have mentioned the "finding neutral problem" to the dealer where i got my bike but it was never treated seriously. Now with warranty an issue i'm just looking for some feedback before taking this problem to my dealer.

Look forward to any reply's.

Hayabusa TV Ad - Now Streaming
Posted by: Fox - 03-05-2001, 11:56am - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

You will need Windows Media Player (available for both PC & Mac) to view the ad. The broadband feed is for people with Cable / ADSL or high speed ISDN.

The narrowband version is for people with dial-up modems.

Broadband | Narrowband

NOTE: You will need to 'right click' the link & select 'Save Target As.. ' to download the file. Otherwise it will fire up in your browser ..

If you wish to download the MPEG version Click Here for Hi res version (17 meg) or Lo res (8 meg)

To download the MPEG file you need to put your mouse over the link and click the right mouse button. It will ask if you wish to 'Save Target As' ... Save it to your desktop. If you just click the link it will try to play it in the browser.

Mac users just hold your mouse down over the link and it will ask "Download Link To Disc"

You will need something that plays MPEG files to view.

 Puff of Blue Smoke !
Posted by: BusaBill - 28-04-2001, 02:43pm - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

Been to check out a used Busa Copper Bronze 99 Mod with
15400 plus km on the odometer. Well as the sales guy fills her up with fuel for my test run as he rev's her down the drive way I was watching from behind and seen a puff of blue smoke from both stock mufflers stock bike too.
Mind you the bike was cold.

I did not expect to see this on a low km busa was very clean not even a scratch on it..
Although the test run was very pleasing smooth box changes great brakes and balance. I was not with it on cornering just slow and easy.I guess I need more raw busa riding to improve my techniques.

Is this normal when the bike is cold given her a bit of a rev? Or is this an indication of extensive mechanical repairs?

Maybe a new one is the go !
What are your views on this guys and gals ?
Many thanks Confused Bill !
