I have been reading that a few people are installing gel seats to their gen 2 busa.
What are they like comfort wise compared to the standard seats and also what are they like compared to the seats fitter with the sheeply hollow covers?
I currently have the sheeply hollow covers and was keen to know of the gel seats are even more comfortable than them.
Cheers.

My personal experience - Standard seat starts getting uncomfortable about half an hour to an hour
Gel seat this is extended to about 3 hours.
This is only my experience though and this is with jeans on and not the leathers. With leathers I can go a day in the saddle with the gel (have not tried standard) and only get mild discomfort.
Everyone is different though and you wont really know unless you give one a go. Maybe you can borrow one for a week if you know of someone that has one.
Cheers

I am guesssing that you are talking about longer rides here. Gel seat distributes your weight better allowing for better circulation. In the twisties you should notice no difference as you a*se will be moving side to side
Custom seat is really the way to go. That way you get the best match to your shape and riding position.

+1 for the Kevsta! Exactly what I wanted, he produced. Great on long trips. Holds you in place for when your up it. I've also got a gel pad in the rear seat, but to let you no how that is I'd have to ride with someone on the back! I'm selfish like that me is.

+ 2 for a custom with Big Kev. I have had mine for some time now and just love it and have never had a problem and also gone 500km and still no problem. Have another ordered with Kev now for hubbies Busa.

I find the standard seat OK. I rode over to P.I and we did over 3000klm on the Busa run. Can 1000klm a day no worries. It allows me to move around easily for corners or slide back for those high speed runs of a 110kph obeying the speed limit of course
.

1 thing I found is that gel seats take a while to break in ,I wouldn't ever go back to the standard gen1 seat [sore ass after 2 hours]

I have a gel seat on my gen 2 and also have the sheepy hollow sheep skin as well and it is certainley a lot better than the standard seat and sheep skin combo.

I highly recommend gel seats, I tried some so called reputable site and got burnt, too busy I guess, waited weeks and no reply. I would highly recommend doing your shopping on this one, did mine and from ebay, $100. Do what's best, find the best price, with the best reviews and grab one, highly recommended. Gel seats are good comfort. Ebay rule.
