gel seat - bbluesilver - 30-01-2012 I have been reading that a few people are installing gel seats to their gen 2 busa. What are they like comfort wise compared to the standard seats and also what are they like compared to the seats fitter with the sheeply hollow covers? I currently have the sheeply hollow covers and was keen to know of the gel seats are even more comfortable than them. Cheers. RE: gel seat - grantxr6t - 30-01-2012 I fitted a gell seat, not all their cracked up to be.Mine seems to have hard bits in it.They look good.just made me think about putting old seat on,just to feel the difference. But i`ve got a bony arse ha. RE: gel seat - VNSVLE - 30-01-2012 My personal experience - Standard seat starts getting uncomfortable about half an hour to an hour Gel seat this is extended to about 3 hours. This is only my experience though and this is with jeans on and not the leathers. With leathers I can go a day in the saddle with the gel (have not tried standard) and only get mild discomfort. Everyone is different though and you wont really know unless you give one a go. Maybe you can borrow one for a week if you know of someone that has one. Cheers RE: gel seat - Shifu - 30-01-2012 I am guesssing that you are talking about longer rides here. Gel seat distributes your weight better allowing for better circulation. In the twisties you should notice no difference as you a*se will be moving side to side Custom seat is really the way to go. That way you get the best match to your shape and riding position. RE: gel seat - Tyronm - 01-02-2012 Speak to BigKev and spend your money on a custom seat.... I got my seat cut and love it even on longer rides!!! RE: gel seat - BEAU - 01-02-2012 +1 for the Kevsta! Exactly what I wanted, he produced. Great on long trips. Holds you in place for when your up it. I've also got a gel pad in the rear seat, but to let you no how that is I'd have to ride with someone on the back! I'm selfish like that me is. RE: gel seat - Rosebusa - 01-02-2012 + 2 for a custom with Big Kev. I have had mine for some time now and just love it and have never had a problem and also gone 500km and still no problem. Have another ordered with Kev now for hubbies Busa. RE: gel seat - Lucky 85 - 01-02-2012 I find the standard seat OK. I rode over to P.I and we did over 3000klm on the Busa run. Can 1000klm a day no worries. It allows me to move around easily for corners or slide back for those high speed runs of a 110kph obeying the speed limit of course. RE: gel seat - grantxr6t - 02-02-2012 I`ll see what the gell seats like when i go up to shepparton on sunday 12 feb greg [maj]has got to set fuel/air ratio. RE: gel seat - DAVE01 - 02-02-2012 1 thing I found is that gel seats take a while to break in ,I wouldn't ever go back to the standard gen1 seat [sore ass after 2 hours] RE: gel seat - busa - 06-02-2012 I have a gel seat on my gen 2 and also have the sheepy hollow sheep skin as well and it is certainley a lot better than the standard seat and sheep skin combo. RE: gel seat - grantxr6t - 18-02-2012 Gel seats ok now.Did 1200 ks last weekend.Redback rally and other places.got back monday.Good time up at rally, food and beer was good value.band and strippers great.Around 500 to 600 up there. Cheers RE: gel seat - DAVE01 - 18-02-2012 ah RED BACK haven't heard or been called that for many a year RE: gel seat - grantxr6t - 19-02-2012 (18-02-2012, 09:24pm)DAVE01 Wrote: ah RED BACK haven't heard or been called that for many a yearredback bike rally was started in 1992 at charlton vic. RE: gel seat - jamdonut - 21-02-2012 I highly recommend gel seats, I tried some so called reputable site and got burnt, too busy I guess, waited weeks and no reply. I would highly recommend doing your shopping on this one, did mine and from ebay, $100. Do what's best, find the best price, with the best reviews and grab one, highly recommended. Gel seats are good comfort. Ebay rule. |
