Almost 8 yrs I have had my faithful Busa and this morning was the first time I dropped her on the road (twice in my driveway). It was the result of a large Fig Tree that covers an entire corner. It has been dropping fruit for the past couple of months which it turn get squashed into the road. This combined with the local councils water runoff across the road from over watering their garden beds results in an extremely dangerous corner. I have been very careful and weary of this but this morning it got me. I was actually being extra careful and was only doing roughly 20kph around the corner. I was amazed at how far the bike slid at such a slow speed and can only put that down to the greasy road. I'm only thankful that I was wearing the right gear (bike jacket, gloves, boots, jeans(minimum)) for if I was not I would be feeling and hurting very sorry for myself even at such a slow speed.
Safety gear cannot be over emphasized.
