Fricking Fig Tree - Monkeyfish - 19-03-2010 Almost 8 yrs I have had my faithful Busa and this morning was the first time I dropped her on the road (twice in my driveway). It was the result of a large Fig Tree that covers an entire corner. It has been dropping fruit for the past couple of months which it turn get squashed into the road. This combined with the local councils water runoff across the road from over watering their garden beds results in an extremely dangerous corner. I have been very careful and weary of this but this morning it got me. I was actually being extra careful and was only doing roughly 20kph around the corner. I was amazed at how far the bike slid at such a slow speed and can only put that down to the greasy road. I'm only thankful that I was wearing the right gear (bike jacket, gloves, boots, jeans(minimum)) for if I was not I would be feeling and hurting very sorry for myself even at such a slow speed. Safety gear cannot be over emphasized. RE: Fricking Fig Tree - bazman - 19-03-2010 sorry to hear about ur low speed get-off, Monkeyfish.... how well did ur ride survive? much damage? baz. RE: Fricking Fig Tree - Ward P - 19-03-2010 CHAINSAW TIME! RE: Fricking Fig Tree - FastPhil - 19-03-2010 Hate that!! RE: Fricking Fig Tree - Leviathan - 19-03-2010 Nooooooooooooo.... Very sorry to hear mate. If you need some help or anything else I am just a PM away. Cheers Troy RE: Fricking Fig Tree - Volvi - 19-03-2010 if its on public area you might have a claim against the council, as the tree would be theyre responsibility and that was the cause. |
