Battery Trickle Chargers
#1
Hi,
My battery goes weak due prolonged periods of not running the Bike.
Battery is 1 year old Yuasa YTZ14. The charge rate on the bike is fine.

Allot of you probably have trickle chargers, I would be interested on your views on the best one to get with the correct amp rating, float indicator, auto settings, etc.

P.S. I will be on the NSW variety Bash in August traveling through NSW, VIC, SA and NT.
I will be in and old F100 Ambulance painted Fire engine red, keep a look out and come and say Hi if I visit a town near you.
Regards,
The Fireman.

I highly recommend Optimate I have the Optimate III but I think theres a 4th model now. I swear by this thing, kept my last battery healthy that went for 9 years. Cost me $99 some years ago.

Lead 'Hardwired' to bike so when I know I will not be riding withing next few days I plug the bike in. Battery always at its max. Comes with leads from the wall and a shorted one to permenantly attech to your bike. Has rubber weatherproof cover to keep plug protected when not in use.

Yea mate, Ctek , Made in sweden 5 yr warranty. My model 800 packed
it in after 3 yrs, my fault, drove out of shed still connected. They replaced under warranty with brand new one, no charge. the mod 3600
is a better unit though.

Thanks Guys, thats some good info to start my search (MCA, Autobarn, Supercheap, Ebay etc).

Some nice photos in the replies have helped with how the battery plug hook up works.
Cheers,
