How much was the Brock Hindle? I'm very interested in how it performs compared to your Yosh. Depending on your #'s you get outta the Brock pipe, I might be interested your old Yosh or else might have to get a Brock pipe of my own if theres a huge diff.

I'm curious as well, as to if any horsepower gains. But we'll soon see what all the talk is about.
I paid $1700 or there abouts because i bought some other things as well but the real killer was the freight $250 (sent by UPS)......it did get here in 3 days though, but you would expect it to for that money....

I'll let you know how i go, but your've got first dibs on the yoshi.

If I do ever visit a dyno I would be glad to let you know to compare bikes. But I have to admit to you am in no hurry to punish the beast on a dyno. One really has to wonder how much good or otherwise too many dynos do for the bike just to satisfy ones curiosity of HP figures.

My last dyno read on Col's came out 177 HP was about 2 years ago. Since then have had air box mod with BMC Racer, BTL, with Remus cans (and definately running stronger). I wouldnt be suprised if it crept up to 180 give or take. But to tell you the truth numbers dont mean all that much to me, its the throttle response and aggressiveness of the engine that gets me to take notice.

Allthough all busas are the same engine unless major modified, one does wonder if some are just better than another, perhaps not but I do wonder. Needless to say with same mods.

Well I am not a bike mechanic or even pretend to be an expert, however after having said that it is of my opinion that too many dyno runs cant have a + factor on the bike rather a - factor, and I said 'to many'. Perhaps it may be proven to me otherwise that its a positive for the bike and not 'punishing' the bike, I am open to that. I do however recall hearing once of a Busa's engine blowing up, or siezing on a dyno and I doubt it was idling at the time or at 4, 7 or 9k. Punish may be my word, you may have another word.

Thats fair comment, but if the bike blew up on the dyno then it obviously had a problem in any case, due to the fact that the dyno cannot create more stress on the bike than those imposed by it's rider (unless operator error of course). Therefore the first time the bike was ridden on the road and the same level of load placed upon it, then the result also would have been the same.
It's a sad old "wives tale" that dyno's blow up bikes.......sure it will pick out a weak spot and expose it, but I think if my bike had a problem I'd much rather find it whilst it was on the dyno than at 250 plus on the road with me on it. (race track I mean't to say of course)D">

I agree and accept the argument that the bike may have had a problem which came through whilst being tested on the dyno and as you say its preferable on the dyno than on the road. My bike has been through the dyno twice I belive in its life so far and have had no problem with that, but I ask myself after seeing it scream at top rev (well 'scream' you know what I mean) how often is ok, is there a point by which there maybe risks to the engine which outway the benefits? And I guess the word 'punish' goes more with the 'screams'. Screams LOL theres gotta be a better word than that.

As i said in previous posts im not interested in how much hp my bike has,its fast enough for me The only reason i would stick the beast on the dyno is to get a good tune on the injection,so that it is smooth through the range and not so i can say its got an extra 10 hp up top big deal!

The bike doesn't "scream" any more on the dyno than when you ride it on the road........the only difference is on the road your leaving the "screaming" behind you, where as when running it on the dyno your standing there in a "still" environment. Hence as said before the dyno cannot stress it any more than the road. in fact I would go as far as to say it's less, because it's a more cotrolled environment.
Now as for having an extra 10 Hp top end being no big deal ................thats true...............but if it's there to be had then why not have it ?
Further to that then if Hp is no big deal then why buy a "BUSA" D">

Can get 10 to 15 from a pipe/box mod and good tune up + lose 15+kg's and thats worth 2000 if you love the bike and plan to keep it for a long time. My bike is not just "a bike" it's a part of me and i want to devalop it.

Hey kiddies, take a chill pill. If we were all the same it would be pretty f*&^ing boring would'nt it.
....some people (myself included) like to see how much HP they can get from a well developed engine, others are contempt with what they've got....

I admit I like pushing the boundaries abit, increases my knowledge and my riding experience, but others are happy to cruise along which is cool as well. (the tortoise may not finish first, but it still finishes)

Full system gives you more power and weight reduction for about $1300 ($2000! - u'r gettin ripped!)for Yoshi and also, and more importantly, gives you more noise to be seen, not too mention i think it looks better(4 into 1). Acropovic look cheap but are expensive. No probs with my Yoshi packing (42000k's) and last but not least, you do NOT over stress your bike on a dyno, there is less stress in a controlled enviroment with a smooth, controlled power on than taking off against a couple of other Busa's from a set of lights.Common sense, I thought.

I'll say it again , each to their own, but everyone has a sense of what their doing is right ,It's their opinion and they form it from previous experience or word of mouth, their entitled to it regardless of whether it's right or not.

That's why i like to be precise on what I do, for eg:I just bought a Brock Davidson Hindle from the States, I measured it from headers right through to muffler and found it to be significantley larger right throughout ( compared to a Yoshimura 4-1 ) I plan to see the dyno figures shortly to see if my money is well spent.
If I lose HP I'll know I've wasted my money but you will all know not to buy it. (nothing ventured nothing gained, as they say)
It's all part of the journey, well that's how I think of it anyway.
