Arh....thanks mate....I think!

I know you are still keen on having it up here but I dont think we will get anyone up this far, well at least not the Victorians anyways.

Bill, what is the furtherest point South or the longest distance you would Travel to by bike or even car?

What type of riding would you like to do!

I am actually thinking about towing the bike to where ever is decided next year to free up some time on the road for the good stuff.

Personally I would probably make it back to Jindy if it didnt bloody rain, Tassie now that would be a stretch.

I am still of the opinion that alternating Venues would be away of pleasing some of the people some of the time.

Shayne thats what Shane and I were talking about maybe towing the bikes down and saving at least my back if that is going to be the case then Jindy will work out ok for me as for riding I dont think my back could make Sydney but then again I have never tried but i have been on some rides that went for around 11 hours with a lot of breaks in between but I suffered for days afterwards but look leave me out of this I am not picking anything whatever happens and whatever destination is decided by the majority I will go along with and try somehow of getting there Regards Bill

thats the other reason simmo just in case something happens to someone there is going to be a recovery vehicle to at least get their bike home instead of all the stuffing around that Shredder had to go through I figure if we get 4 people coming for the ride we can all take turns in driving and riding when ya had enough just swap over and let the other 2 go for it Regards Bill

I have offerred to help organise a get together in Port Stephens if that location is selected and this offer still stands.
I also suggest that we could have a BUSA get together at all the major bike events during the year, such as, Superbikes in March, GP in October and Ulysses AGM at Coffs in May. (I think).
The Charity ride is in Jindy every November anyway and a lot of Busa riders go on that as well.
My point is that we ride one or two major trips a year and if there are a few going to these events there is no reason that a get together can't be organised at each of them.
There is a lot of work in organising a major event of our own as DJ and Kawa will acknowledge, I'm sure, so why not ride along to other ones and take advantage of the situation?
It's not as if we make it a BUSA only event anyway.

Dont forget that when a large group of bikes enter a holiday town, it usually gets the eye of the law. I know Jindy was a bit cold and wet bet we enter there quite and are not in the main town, and there is no obvious attraction to the coppers, and also the traffic is none existent which is very good. There are no more police in Port Stephens or Coffs than anywhere else in the state including around Jindy.
In fact, if you stay off the Pacific Hwy, you will hardly ever see one.

BUT it's the ones you don't see that are the problem anywhere.

Well Kawa, there are two highway patrol vehicles allocated to the Port Stephens area on a permanant basis plus 1 unmarked Falcon that visits. They are responsible for the Pacific Hwy from Hexham to Taree and patrol it constantly during daylight.
Other than that there are about a dozen Newcastle based patrols that are shared around the entire city of 500,000 residents.
There is no 24 hour police station in Port Stephens and the nearest night patrol comes from Maitland, nearly 90 minutes away.
Just because you live in a police city, don't think the rest of us do.
