I am thinking more as being able to use bike as secondary vehicle once family has gotten to a location, the break down issue is more a by-product LOL

As I said, on weekend we drove to the East coast to stay a few nights at my brothers shack and I love riding the East Coast roads but with family, gear and not wanting to torture the boss by locking her alone in a car with a 17 yr old teenager boy lol I had to take the 4x4 and leave bike at home. There is very limited parking at shack so dumping a trailer off would be difficult and leaving it on impossible as we visited many packed parking lots for tourist walks.

SO the idea formed about a towing hitch with front wheel off the ground and bike being pulled. Then I found discussions about possible detrimental gear box effects from free wheeling so thought I would tap into the combined experiences of the AHC to see what the verdict might be.

Don't want to buy another trailer and the trailer I got is very heavy (made by boilermaker/welder lol) plus only 2.0M long with tailgate up.

WTF!
I get the idea, and I reckon there's probably a couple of them that may work - but, man, there are some dodgy ones amongst that lot !!!
Gonna need some serious research there, Tony !

Thats what I found too lucky, and yes your right cap't about the research....

I have a brother that is a structural engineer so getting it designed to happily deal with busa's weight is no issue, even got a mate that is boilermaker/welder that can fabricate it to engineers design.

the burning question is......

does free wheeling cause gearbox issues?

as far as I can tell there are 2 thrust bushes at midpoints on drive shaft that, while turning will be under zero load. The bearings that hold shaft are simple needle race bearings which are actually sealed off from oil.
