Fairing Repair on the Gold coast
#1
hi all,

just chasing any recommendations for painters etc to respray and do a minor repair on the right hand side fairing on my bike??

I let the old man take it for a spin and when he got back he lost his footing and dropped it (stationary at the time). Damage is minimal, just a scuff and a slight crack in the fairing near the clutch cover...

I can get a new fairing for $400 delivered which is painted and already got the stickers on it from Suzuki, just want to see what i would be up for for a repair.

Also where would i get a set of the Buell Pegs so i can swap mine over, another casualty of the fall was the right hand peg :(

Thanks in Advance.

Dam that's cheap! $400, I paid $780 for my LH side 1 month ago from Suzuki.
Thanks in Advance.

Who do you know at Suzuki to get a new complete RH fairing for $400.00? Could you get one for me? Please Drool And a LH as well if possible...

Anyway the repair will cost you probably more than that so new one for that price is a bargain not to be missed.

Yeah agreed about the colour, I'm pretty anal about that sort of stuff and they never seem to be the same when they are sprayed.

Are you aware if the buell pegs will bolt straight on? I believe I have read they need to be modified? Any idea what needs to be done?

Thanks for the details mate

Little bit of grinding so dont sit on exhaust and then a 10mm dynobolt to use the tube of the dynobolt around the pin 30 min tops

Heatsheild as in the foam like stuff stuck to the inside of the fairing? i would believe so, i will receive it either tomorrow or friday so i will let you know.

In other news, i ordered the wrong colour so i may have a spare (white with red stickers) to get rid of for the price i bought it for.... Very Cheap insurance....

Ryan, heatshields are these aluminum foil bits stuck on the inside not the foam padding. In any case if you have a spare you want to get rid off I will be happy to take it of your hands for a custom paint job. Let me know.

They are a bitch to take off as the foil will tear easily. Designed for once only use Lol3 Maybe heat gun would help, don't know as I have not tried that method. I have a spare set of them bought just in case when I ordered mine. But my fairings came with heatshields attached. The dealer said that it is not consistant as sometime they are not there.
Cheers.
