The vic VIV has been a pain to comply to , but it does at least allow a proper check on repaired vehicles, can't see why similar wouldn't work in NSW
Be a lot of damaged bikes now coming to other states for resale ....

If those bikes that ARE written off are no longer repairable,
then their value will be less at resale for the insurance companies.
Guess what that's going to do to premiums ?

So if the vehicle had previously passed a NSW VIV inspection and re-registered, can it continue to be re-regstered each year, or is that it.....over and out ??

I'm more concerned about my dirt bike not being able to be re-registered (had previously passed VIV inspection here in NSW), so maybe it will end up as a farm bike only, not being able to re-register again being a previously repaired bike ???

It was a repairable write off that I bought at an auction in Sydney. Did the repairs, (bugger all on a dirt bike mind you), and re-registered full in NSW. Its out of reg at the moment due to lack of use, and will re rego again shortly, but if I cant continue to rego the bike in years to come, I wont bother doing it, and just use it in the bush without (just trying to keep legal thats all).

I would be very surprised if the arguement could not be successfully made that the media release pertained to CAR's exclusively. There are too many mentions of Car rebirthing etc. Any clever lawyers out there? It is a lot harder to cover up a frame re-weld or motor re-weld on a motorbike, as the vehicle as easily viewed all over. I guess though that we will have to wait untill the bill is passed in it's final wording to fully understand the impact on the motorcycle community, so don't frett just yet people!!

it is not going to effect the gen Bikes/cars that can be fixed corectly What is the problem if your not one of these shonky salvage hunters that likes to repair something cheap and make a packet of $ not giving a shit what the vehicle goes out like then there is no problem for you
