What a load of crap. - Tony Nitrous - 09-04-2010 NSW to ban re-registering "repairable write off's" ...and recomend other states do too. http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/newsevents/downloads/minister_releases/100408_car_rebirthing.pdf What a load of crap. So a perfectly safe and useable bike that has cosmetic damage and can easily be fixed is now only good for parts ? RE: What a load of crap. - ROD - 09-04-2010 (09-04-2010, 04:19pm)Tony Nitrous Wrote: NSW to ban re-registering "repairable write off's" I think you will find Insurance companys want be in so much of a hurry to write cars and bikes off and then they will be repaired properly not like some of the back yard work being done out there RE: What a load of crap. - Maj - 09-04-2010 The vic VIV has been a pain to comply to , but it does at least allow a proper check on repaired vehicles, can't see why similar wouldn't work in NSW Be a lot of damaged bikes now coming to other states for resale .... RE: What a load of crap. - Tony Nitrous - 09-04-2010 If those bikes that ARE written off are no longer repairable, then their value will be less at resale for the insurance companies. Guess what that's going to do to premiums ? RE: What a load of crap. - Natcam - 17-04-2010 So if the vehicle had previously passed a NSW VIV inspection and re-registered, can it continue to be re-regstered each year, or is that it.....over and out ?? RE: What a load of crap. - GRUNTMAX - 17-04-2010 This of course is a plot by the Communist Australian/Chinese NSW Labor Government. HOWEVER. Nowhere on that deceptive fraudulent government document does it state that the written off vehicle's owner is not permitted to purchase the wreck back off the insurance company. Stroker Motors all round ![]() So; What insurance company will insure a new bike for it's purchase value plus all the money spent on aftermarket parts ? After all, you'd think the useless Fuc*in NSW RTA colluding with the useless NSW Motor Accidents Authority would spend more of their time changing the pissweak legislation on drink driving and get all the drunks off the road. Oh yes, their better off spending their time peddling their Fraudulent NSW CTP Green Slip Insurance where you never receive or are offered a proper Product Disclosure Statement that is law for all other insurance in Australia. DEATH TO THE COMMUNIST NSW LABOR GOVERNMENT ! Don't worry Bruce N Heidi---wouldn't want to ruin ya facebook page. I'll bung the violins up now. No intended slander whatsoever ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: What a load of crap. - Natcam - 17-04-2010 I'm more concerned about my dirt bike not being able to be re-registered (had previously passed VIV inspection here in NSW), so maybe it will end up as a farm bike only, not being able to re-register again being a previously repaired bike ??? RE: What a load of crap. - GRUNTMAX - 17-04-2010 (17-04-2010, 05:34pm)Natcam Wrote: I'm more concerned about my dirt bike not being able to be re-registered (had previously passed VIV inspection here in NSW), so maybe it will end up as a farm bike only, not being able to re-register again being a previously repaired bike ???"Repaired" or "Written Off By An Insurance Company" ? RE: What a load of crap. - Natcam - 17-04-2010 It was a repairable write off that I bought at an auction in Sydney. Did the repairs, (bugger all on a dirt bike mind you), and re-registered full in NSW. Its out of reg at the moment due to lack of use, and will re rego again shortly, but if I cant continue to rego the bike in years to come, I wont bother doing it, and just use it in the bush without (just trying to keep legal thats all). RE: What a load of crap. - Katana2 - 17-04-2010 I would be very surprised if the arguement could not be successfully made that the media release pertained to CAR's exclusively. There are too many mentions of Car rebirthing etc. Any clever lawyers out there? It is a lot harder to cover up a frame re-weld or motor re-weld on a motorbike, as the vehicle as easily viewed all over. I guess though that we will have to wait untill the bill is passed in it's final wording to fully understand the impact on the motorcycle community, so don't frett just yet people!! RE: What a load of crap. - Kala - 18-04-2010 what are the pencil neck law makers worried about, really? K RE: What a load of crap. - grumpy - 18-04-2010 you people in oz need to stop your government from making all these rules that they keep coming up with because good, bad, stupid, succesful or not sooner or later our government come up with the same sort of ruling they seem to think if aussie do it we can do it. (unless it,s a cricket match then our lot can,t do it) beat the aussies that is. ![]() RE: What a load of crap. - Ozboc - 18-04-2010 This is mainly aimed at cars , but unfortunately bikes have been included in this at this stage Boc RE: What a load of crap. - ROD - 18-04-2010 Well i for one am for it if it gets one death trap of the road then its good . it is not going to effect the gen Bikes/cars that can be fixed corectly What is the problem if your not one of these shonky salvage hunters that likes to repair something cheap and make a packet of $ not giving a shit what the vehicle goes out like then there is no problem for you RE: What a load of crap. - 2 DOGS - 18-04-2010 Great idea, hope it is adapted australia wide. Shut down all those shonky repairers. |
