The actual cost for a spirited Sydney peak hour commuter are as follows. This bike has commuted in peak hour traffic in 40+ and in the wet with no problems so far.

A testament to using the right people to supply, build and tune.

Block
Gen 1 block Gen 2 blocks have had some issues recently, cracking when over bored and hit with a big shot of NOS. The Gen 1 block was sent to APE in the states who bored it to 84mm and re-plated it. I wanted this modified block rebored and plated not just a stock exchange block. Blocks can be had for a couple of hundred depending on condition. Ebay US is a good source. $300.00
http://www.cyanideracing.com.au/

Pistons
No too high in compression so they will run fine on premium, we may even end up playing with them to lower the ratio a bit.
JE 84mm 13.25:1 pistons.
Piston and block kit approx: $1300.00
Plus freight for block to the states and local freight in Australian
http://www.cyanideracing.com.au/

We ended up running over 13:1 compression which has been fine on premium, the gen 2 head must be helping here as no detonation so far.

Gaskets
Head and base gaskets to suit 84mm bore – cometec $150.00.
http://www.cyanideracing.com.au/

Cams
I chose a reasonable grind, the loss in bottom end and midrange should be compensated by the increase bore.
WEB billet .395/.378 grinds, purchased outright no exchange. $1100.00
http://www.cyanideracing.com.au/

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Schnitz adjustable cam gears $220.00
Allows dialing in of the cams.

Brocks cam relocation pin $50.00

http://www.cyanideracing.com.au/

Head
The head will be gas flowed locally this is where real gains can be made on the gen 1 and 2 especially with a big motor
Head work $1500.00 plus

This was the final cost. The head guy commented on how much extra flow there was from the gen 2.

Cooling
I will relocate the temp sensor so the fans come on earlier, the alloy blades move more air.
Two Muzzy alloy fan blades $120.00
http://www.cyanideracing.com.au/

Just running alloy blades all else is stock.

Starting
High comp big bore busa motors donâ€t like starting on one battery especially when warm. This kit runs a small secondary gel battery mounted in the side of the tailpiece and charges automatically. No more switches to start/charge.
Tiger racing 24 volt auto start system $300.00
http://www.1st-to-the-finish-line.com/pr...rness.html

For sale 24 volt is not needed on a gen2 even with HIGH compression.

Real rev limit set to 11000 revs.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ECU Reflash
I will reflash the ECU to increase the rev limit, take out the ignition retard and top speed limiter and set the rev limiter to a hard cut. Smith ECU re-flash hardware kit $240.00
http://www.boostbysmith.com/ecugen2.html

Money well spent, incredible work Pete, my past bike has cost me more on setup than build. Not this time.

Engine Building
Name your price and good luck finding someone who knows what they are doing. $$$$$ Thanks Leonard.

Summary of costs
Second hand modified Gen 1 Block $300
Freight local and to ship the block $100.00
Block and pistons $1300.00
Gaskets $150.00
Cams $1200.00
Cam gears $220.00
Cam pin $50.00
Head work $1500.00
Radiator fans $120.00
ECU reflash hardware $240.00
Engine build less than I quoted originally this may vary for assholes
Tuning less than I quoted originally this may vary for assholes

Total all up you do the math.

Bruce
I'm not a complete idiot - Several parts are missing.
Would anyone else with a 1441 who is claiming bullshit numbers from a bullshit dyno like to post their costs including copies of all reciepts, happy to post my reciepts.

Call my dyno numbers bullshit Pi_tongue?
See you in Minchinberry. Or do you lack the length?Pi_tongue
All up it really equates to $146.00 per hp over stock.

Hmmm, the guys in the US get the same results as you did Bruce for the Gen2 1441, they must be lairs also! Lol2

Best way to find out is to "get a lane".....won't be no secret testing for this animal!

Quick update, Pete has been (instramental) following the Petric development of the ECU flasher and reworked my map (at no charge) he sent me 3 different maps at different fueling levels. I loaded the mid map and the difference is amazing.

Took her for a run up the Putty Road and it nearly cost me my licence. Unmarked car got me at 35 over comming out of a 65k corner. Luckily he was a good guy and cut it down to 4 points and $400.00 odd. This thing fuels like a stocker, smooth as at part and full throttle.

Time for some more performance bits - spoke to Ray ordering some Galespeed mag or forged alloy wheels and Braketech disks. Hopefully he will quote me great discounted prices or I will bag that tight ass bastard all over the net.

Oh shit where is the edit buttonScary.

Braketech full floating high ductile iron discs and Galespeed forged wheels ordered from Ray. Should be here in two weeks - just in time for the Tassie trip.

Pics of brakes, wheels, custom seats and other new billet bits when they arrive.Coolsmiley
