If u like Bruce, I could run it in at Eastern Creek Road racing circuit for u and sort out the handling at the same timeLol2 Maybe Bundy could climb onboard for a 200mph run down the main straight, save me taking her to the Salt Flats!!!Yes
I'm really happy for u mate, hope it exceeds all ur expectations!.

Cheers,
Tex & Bundy

Whats so funny?
You rev a standard gen2 to 12,000 safely,so just out of curiousity
because i dont an prob wont have 10 grand to spend on a bike rebuild,
wanna know what you could rev it to safely now???

Pm if its such a big deal Undecided

ACtually I am curious too - after talking to Brock Davidson (Brocks Perf) in depth about my last venture (and ultimate demiss of the K8) he recommended not to raise the rev limit more than 500rpm or you were starting to get into risky/unknown teritory - my current K9 is 500 up limits removed etc but am curious what the 1441 build is capable of? PM if need to stay covert

Cheers
Egos; everyone got one

No problem Pete thanks for lunch also, made it to my Bros place in good time, if there is any chance of it ready after lunch tomorrow give me a call it will save bruce riding it back,
ps I just found his bloody gloves in my car, he has funny hands you know 6 fingers or something do you have a spare set he can have a lend of if things don't work out tomorrow
I have had mine up over 12k real time, 13 + on & off the gauge
I was a bit worried about doing it & still am (but no bang yet) ,
I now have set it back to 11800-12000 depending how much my back tyre is wore at the drags that is
Stock setting is 11300 on the Gen2
Pete will work out peak power & set the limiter
Reply
I dont know what the final rev limit will be at the moment, when it's on th dyno the rev limit will be set to just after the power noses over.

It could be anywhere in the 11-13000rpm range it's all dictated by the cams. The bottom end will not be the limitation.

Quicksilver will go above 14,000 rpm but........life expectancy will demish rapidly if you keep doing it, so its backed down a bit.
I would think that Bruces bike would still make good power to 12,000 but once again if you get on the freeway and do it everyday then you'll need a rebuild sooner than later.
For drag use (short term) 12,000 shouldn't be an issue, obviously mantainance will be greater, oil changes after every meeting, leakdown, clutch maintainance etc etc .

As they say "How fast do you want to go", "How much money you got!"

Once it run in and fully tuned (by Pete) the final figures will be availble, I'm sure Bruce wont mind sharing...... some!

Leonard.

Pete, you lucky, lucky bastard! Getting to tune it. That would be a hoot!

I take it that one of lower end weight savings gains was the counterbalancer? Those buggers weigh a tonne!
