Anyone scraping pegs?
#46
If you guys are scraping pegs and fairings on the street then most probably the following can cure the problem.
1. Set the bike up properly
2. Lift it back up to standard height.
3. Get your ass off the seat.
4. Take propper lines thru the corners.

People are doing mid to low 1.40's at the creek and are not scraping the fairings so you must be doing something wrong..

I'm not saying you guys are not fast but this post needs a reality check before it degenerates into a circle jerkPi_tongue

ckwit - I have done 1.39 and reg do 1.41 at the creek on my ZX10 race bike so dont tell me how to ride mate Mr straight line guy - you have no f*&^ing idea how my bike is setup and if you look over some of my prev posts you will see that I have had the suspension done by Terry Hay (do you even know who that is!) so you better tell one of the best supsension guys in teh biz he doesnt know what he is talking about - did you note the rearsets raised - you dont know what triple tree I am running bike setup or anything so f*** off Mr know it all go twist your throttle in a straight line somwhere
your jerking your own circle! (prolly a small one too)

Look at me look at me look at me f*** im fast.
Why would ANYONE fell the need - the obsession to constantly tell everyone how fast you are. As I said in my previous post maybe you are fast who the f*** cares! Why not let your riding talk for you rather than ram it down everyones throat.

Its the constant posts about how f*&^ing good you are that gets me.

Hey :) Reason i started the thread was for some advice about the bike. I know the set up must be wrong, because after 20 years of riding I know my ability, which is relatively slow but technically sound, but I was losing confidence from scraping in corners, so thanks for the advice, and ive noted points 1 and 2. I dont care about being fast, just being safe and having fun, and corners are fun :)
Bike is in the shop today having a look at the sag, hopefully that will fix it up in time for my cornering course tomorrow, I do 2 a year ;)

for fucks sake what are you trying to prove to everyone? no one gives a f*** what your zx10 race bike does. this isnt a zx10 forum last i checked. and last i checked this wasnt about any piece of shit kawasaki scraping it was about a busa scraping. seriously you need a reality check done on your self as every time you get on here you just flame someone or blow your own horn. ive got an idea if you love your zx10 that much go out to the garage start it up and shove your little pee wee into the exhaust pipe then your bike can blow your horn for you.

P.S welcome Lisa and i hope you get your bike sorted the way you like it. there was a guy selling links to raise the rear of the bike by about half an inch not sure if they are still around but this may give you some more clearance. or perhaps a taller profile rear tyre.Pi_thumbsup

Cheers v much, I'll look out for that. I might not need anything done, I've got the srad pegs on it now, and so far, nothing, but the confidence isn't back yet to really go for it - I want to keep my number of prangs at zero, and those scrapes really threw the bike around. Mechanic just called to say the set up is standard, nothing wrong at all. Might just go with the links for peace of mind though.
If anyone is riding Putty Sunday, it'd be nice to compare set ups.
