I like the sounds of the Omeo run - we might have to do one late this year, one early next year for Tassie, if the Tassie weather is really better near the start of the year.

I did a 12 day trip around tassie with the BMW safari in March 98, and we only had 1 day of drizzle on the west coast. They researched the weather before planning their safari.

I'd be keen to go again but for longer than 2 or 3 days.

well how long do we want it? & cost? Alpine way up to Omeo is a full weekend ride - could make it longer with some really good roads up that way :) plus I promised myself I would do it this year & I missed out coz of the bike issues.

I'd vote number one for that ride & I'd be willing to do a lot of leg work to sort out where to stay & the routes

Whatever the event, wherever it is, I am keen. I am going to have to come down from Cairns - , 8,000k round trip and one week off - does anyone know a freight company that will give a busa rider a great deal?

Of course, if everyone else wanted to come to Cairns - I'll put on a BBQ and a couple of : at my place.

If we are splitting by state, why not split the thread, take some of the ideas by state and chuck up a poll for dates and place.. Dont give to many options.. Perhaps 3 places,3 dates otherwise nobody will ever decide.

I'm talking about apparent "splitting", "them and us", "start your own thread" nature of what I'm reading.

Doesn't it seem silly to you that a thread called "Let's all get together" ... has shaped into 3 possible rides?

I would prefer if some people could be a little more flexible, that's all.
The sith were not flexible, and look what happened . Star Wars taught us so much! How can we not see what is shaping-up here?

Personally I would preffer it was everyone together. It doesnt bother me to ride up to nsw. I do 8 hour rides around here on weekends, 8 hours to NSW is no different. Love a good road trip.. My comment was based on the suggestion that we have seperate rides earlier in the thread. I couldnt care less if it was a get together at the top of QLD.. If ive got the time and cash then I will ride up there.
