As you know Rocketman I've done the same thing many times over the past years. Only to get a luke warm (at best) response. It's disheartening.
It's good that the newer members push the issue. It might get a few others out there again. And heaven forbid they might have fun and meet some goog guys...
But some like me have trouble planning that far down the track. Two rosters work wise to juggle, not to mention 3 kids to look after.
But if the Club did organise fixed (of sort) rides, I'd do what I always have done. If I'm available I turn up. Been known on many rides to be getting paid. (Recreation leave)
If members want to join other clubs (I got ears too Rocketman) good luck to them. It's a free country. I've been a member of the Ulysses Club for about 4 years now. Just never ridden with them. (Yet)
I hear the Hangmore Club is a beaut. I suppose when you cater for all bikes you are going to get more interest.
I have heard from a reliable source that riders are a bit intimidated by the Busa Club. Lots of Urban Myths out there for some reason???
Still glad your with the Club after selling your Busa Rocketman. As I posted earlier (with no offence intended) it's a hard act to follow.
Keeping a Busa on the road. (cost wise it's a killer)
Keeping ones licence. (enough on that one)
Keeping ones marraige intact. (balancing riding and commitment)
And then trying to get all that together to show up as a group for regular rides...
I think the Wednesday night meeting has done alot to keep the club going here in Vic. (Pitty I can't always make it. See one of the above reasons )
Riders tend to break away for convenience too. Live in same or close suburbs. Ride the same areas etc...
So bottom line is just ride. Even if it's on your own or with one other member. Others will join in if they can make it.
I remember you saying years back Rocketman. "Never again"! After all the time and trouble you put into organising a ride. If I remember right it turned pear shaped?
Sometimes we need to Email each other as we have done for years Rocket. A public forum is not always the way to go. It's too public.
Cheers,
"Don't mention the mid week rides"! "I think I got away with it before"!!!!
