VIC MEMBERS WHERE ARE WE GOING WRONG????????? - dirt bags 05 - 02-10-2005 Why is it that out of 600 odd Vic members. On the best days, only a few turn up for a ride. Please post comments so we can do something about it. Is it because we ride too slow.? too fast.? we leave to early.? to late.? post ride to late.? leave from inconvenient places.? dont like the places we ride.? Or is it something else??????????????? Put your 2 cents worth in. Maybe we can make it better for all members to be included. Re: VIC MEMBERS WHERE ARE WE GOING WRONG????????? - Djpete - 02-10-2005 the 50,000 dollar question DB... This might be interesting... Cheers, Pete Mobile Dj, Web Design, Photography, Bullshit Artist? A Busa in about 3 years and 2. A licence in about 3 years or 3. Still alive in about three years You'll look back on this question and say " Was I really that naive"? That is all! Re: VIC MEMBERS WHERE ARE WE GOING WRONG????????? - Bazoomatic - 02-10-2005 Interesting question db, I'll give you three reasons why I didn't join you today. 1. Family comitments in the morning, 2. I do prefer to ride 'alternate roads' on days like today to stay away from and I had a feeling that you might go up around those parts, 3. I had planned to ride in the afternoon with a few friends from up the street and they're into leasurely riding which I didn't think would suit. I know that if I had turned up then we could have discussed alternate routes but the bottom line is that I simply had other things on today. Perhaps an earlier post would help but by the same token it's a shiter to organise a ride a week in advance and have the weather turn out . I don't know whether folks think that because there will be a pack of busas, we all have to go at light-speed all of the time that would make plod happy. No one can afford to loose thier licence. I certainly would like to keep mine this time... I don't have a hard answer for ya mate, but I can say that in the last 4ish months of being in the club, I've met, or know of, about 30 Victorian members, max. 600 members ? Are there 600 Busas in Victoria??? If there are then they're hidden not ridden That I don't get. Whats the point of a bike like this if you just keep it in the shed / bedroom and lick it from time to time? Best of luck with your quest, and now that I've put in my 2 cents, I'll join Cheers, Bazoo.Edited by: Bazoomatic at: 2/10/05 10:12 pm Re: VIC MEMBERS WHERE ARE WE GOING WRONG????????? - rocket rod 7777 - 03-10-2005 600 odd(very odd)members in Vic????? That would be Aust wide DB. There are many different reasons why people dont go out to ride(too many to mention here.) Ok heres what i think. Now that the better weather is starting, what saw you maybe set up 1 day a month club ride? That way it gives members plenty of time to organise, and plenty of people to be given time for peole to read post. Richard used to send emails out to remind peole of the event. I not sure if you can do anything towards this ? Maybe each month can have a different desination, that way it gives different scenery and area spread that is fair to everyone. Make a day ride out of it and see what happens. If you are a keen rider and go out every weekend and have the time to do it,well post your links and it gives other riders options. Phuck its the phantom! Re: VIC MEMBERS WHERE ARE WE GOING WRONG????????? - dirt bags 05 - 03-10-2005 you'r spot on rocket only 170 odd members. only looked at member listing number . and is this list current. we have no way of knowing . KEEP IN MIND THAT I AM NOT TRYING TO STEP ON ANY TOES, OR POLICE ANYTHING, JUST ASKING A QUESTION THAT HAS BEEN THROWN A ROUND ON WED/NIGHTS. IT MAY HELP OTHER MEMBERS ENJOY THE CLUB AS MUCH AS WE ALL DO.......... Re: VIC MEMBERS WHERE ARE WE GOING WRONG????????? - Breharna - 03-10-2005 Bazoo, Whats wrong with keeping your bike in the garage and licking it every day. My bike and I enjoy it, my tongue is a bit tender now cause I've got new tyres on it and they really stick to my tongue. Now got to go and gargle with some mouth wash and go and give the bike another licking!!!! Stewie Mac Riding not Talking - GDYUP - 03-10-2005 And then there's the secret squirrel break away group that ride alot and just would rather ride than talk! And they often do a mid week ride whilst all you law abiding citizens are hard at work! But I think all the above is just an "Urban Myth"! P.S. is the G.O.R. still on for this Wednesday ??? Keep up the team spirit Dirtbags. Cheers, "Your Car is Very boring" Riding not sticking my fingers up at everyone! - Djpete - 03-10-2005 Quote:If you still have 1. A Busa in about 3 years etc Good point Gdy. U know that one of the nicknames for the Busa is license killer. But you know on Sunday we rode over 350kms. We stuck on the limit almost all the way. We had great fun round the twisties at Reefton etc. You don't have to be flying at supersonic speed to have a great day. Hey even Dirtbags enjoyed it. It's all about having a ride, maybe a drink or two, a chat and raking up some kms on some new roads... You nailed it DJ - GDYUP - 03-10-2005 I agree with your sentiments.... So answer this one? Why do big bad Busa riders bag the Ulysses riders??? They are the hard core group that ride all year round. They (most) are happy to sit on the limit and enjoy the day. If it wasn't for this particular group me and would have no one to talk to during the colder (hibernation) period... Re: You don't have to be flying at supersonic speed to have a great day. No but I'm told it helps... No back to organising the secret squirrel mid week ride.. xtt big bad wolf - Djpete - 03-10-2005 Why do big bad Busa riders bag the Ulysses riders??? haven't seen anything about that Gdy... Hay where we going midweek? Might gatecrash... Trail bikes for ME - Ronnie Ramjet - 03-10-2005 I spent most of sunday on me trail bikes.F$%^Ken trees across the track at 70kms frightens the shit out of ya.Good fun when u can't ride the cheese pudding.
