Good to hear you'll be back soon Jon, what's the status of your paintwork, mods etc?
It's not so much that lane splitting is illegal, the offence if any will be passing on the left (RR 141(1) $165 & 2 points) or possibly failure to signal before changing direction (RR 48(1) $105 & 2 points)...info was current at 21/12/02.
ie if you indicate and pass on the right of the lane you're in you should be good for it, but who does?D">
I could probably scan you a copy of the infringement notice handbook if you're interested, freakin 34 pages devoted to traffic offences!:">
