Well said Rod, although I am a professional urban Firefighter, I Have attended many bush fires over the years.
Have not seen a dead native animal yet!(some sheep and cows on farms) They instinctively know when to go. More backburnig at approapriate times of the year IS what is required but hte EPA and the Greenies restrict operations. Willing manpower to do the thankless job of hazard reduction is also a concern.
Anyway thats my 5 cents worth.
