I always gear up regardless of ride length, intensity or weather.
Leathers, good gloves and boots, and helmet of course.
They are called accidents for a reason, we don't plan on having 'em.
Remember, it can be the difference between walking away a bit sore or with relatively minor injuries and being out of action for weeks or months.
