Sounds like you've had water in your tank or in the fuel?

not that i know off,
could that cause the problem?
i recently put some fuel additive in the tank
about a week ago, but ive run a cpl more tanks
of fuel since, i could try and stick some metho in the tank.

just a thought mate. Water in the fuel would give you problems like you're having, but if you've already gone through a few tanks and also used a fuel additive.....safe to rule that one out.

im going to leave the wire in place and see if thatl
tell me something next time it does it,
every time i do a diagnostic check after it comes
up with no faults, it gets hairy when it decides to shut off
in the middle of traffic.
