If you are going to post up some rant from a disaffected yank, at least edit it to make it readable....

I apoligise for the readability not a good cut & paste & it may be a rant from a dissafected seppo but how close is it to our own screwed up over governed land.How can we try & teach our kids true value & respect with all this shit happening around them.

What you are saying here is very true, but writing or reading about it is just a waste of time and aggrevation to those who one day will learn to know better. Whatever happens is the fault and making of our own, as we have voted these bastards in and silently (and almost ashamed) tolerating this "governing". Nothing will change untill all these issues become so important, not just to the few, but to the majority, that they will stop caring about anything else. In 1980 in Poland we have reached such a state of mind. Under the State of Emergency laws it was illegal (15-25 years inprisonment) to even meet your mate on the street. But that did not stop anyone. We were there with rocks and bottles against bullets and tanks. Many died on these streets, but there was no way anyone could stop it. I ended up in prison, branded as terrorist, with 6 death penalty verdicts from the Military Court. But that did not matter as price of freedom is blood. History teaches that always was and I bet it always will be. Australia is the greatest country in the world but it's nation at large is too immature to understand and see many things that are natural and obvious for people who understand what feedom really means and what it takes to defend it, nor it has a tradition of doing it.
So nothing will change here untill, very likely somwhere else, people will say "we had it and it is time for change".
In the mean time, do not get stressed over it, get on your busa and enjoy it while you can
