cam chain tensioner

Unfortunatley today it seems like my cam chain tensioner let go and after contacting suzuki it seems that my by (99) model has only had the origanal recall done missed out on the second recall as I am the second owner and bike shop never passed on my details.
so i have to wait for the dealer to pull down the bike and do a report to suzuki australia who will then let me know if they are going to help out so I just want to know did the second fix the company did fix the problem with the tensioner or is it better to go with the manual tensioner.
