Which Arai is it? Rx7 or vector ?
If your going to spend big money on a lid get one you can remove liner.
Also my advice is before you go for a look and try on some lids measure your head first that will give you a ball park figure on what size to try first.
The bigest problem I think is that when you try a few lids on you start to get confused with the fit because the cheek pads and all seem way to tight and you end up with a helmet that will be to big once the liner looses a bit of its stiffness from new.
What I think works best is once you think you have the right one take out the cheek pads and make sure your head is touchng the top of liner and check for any hot spots.
If it fits good then try with cheek pads back in and if to loose get the next size up or visa versa.
This way you will end up with the best fit you might even have to change the liner for a smaller or larger one.
