Hi Guys,
In the process of buying a Helmet, any recommendation for a decent brand. I have used shit till now.
Guess - didnt care for the head till now......

you can buy my shark rsi carbon which has been used twice its to tight for me paid 800 for it your for 550
size large 59-60cm

not sure, but they are a good brand. I have a KBC that cost me $400 and I have no bad opinions about it

One suggestion Bill....
I've been using HJC for about the last 12 years (up to my 3rd one at da mo').....great helmets, some great features (all HJC come with built-in pockets for ear phones), and reasonably priced too!
The HJC's that I've worn have saved my brain matter and neck/spine from serious injury twice in high speed (150km/h+) crashes....so I'm very happy with them!
I've had my eye on the HJC C/F jobbie for a while now....it's price has dropped a bit lately and it looks like a million $$$....definately worth checkin' out!!

ever 1 here bill will tell you what you they like thats not a prob mate but you seriously need to hit some shops and try them on to find what will suit you and your rideing style
i have my own preferences to helmets , best of luck

I'm with BK...get around the shops and put 'em on ya melon Bill.......doesn't matter what anyone else wears (I'm loyal to one brand but that's irrelevant), you've gotta wear it on your head, it doesn't matter how comfy it is on my head, Big Kev's head.....it's gotta work for you.

My preference is for Shoei - reason being they fit the shape of my head properly.
I've tried Shark, Arai and a few others but nothing fit me as good as the Shoei did.
You are better to go down to a store and try a few on first, because the shapes between brands does vary a little bit.

Sizes and shapes between brands vary heaps. I've loved certain helmets and been really disappointed ti find they don't fit the shape of my head. Always buy a little bit on the tight side from new. Try all the brands on and this will narrow down what you can buy.

Its a pity they dont let you go for a test ride with one, noise levels etc, peripheral vision. You never find the limitations until after you've ridden a k's , both in traffic and out having a blast. Mine (KBC) tends to lift off my head above 200, but its irrelavent really cos faster than that my specs rattle up and down and I cant see bugger all anyway

Which Arai is it? Rx7 or vector ?
If your going to spend big money on a lid get one you can remove liner.
Also my advice is before you go for a look and try on some lids measure your head first that will give you a ball park figure on what size to try first.
The bigest problem I think is that when you try a few lids on you start to get confused with the fit because the cheek pads and all seem way to tight and you end up with a helmet that will be to big once the liner looses a bit of its stiffness from new.
What I think works best is once you think you have the right one take out the cheek pads and make sure your head is touchng the top of liner and check for any hot spots.
If it fits good then try with cheek pads back in and if to loose get the next size up or visa versa.
This way you will end up with the best fit you might even have to change the liner for a smaller or larger one.

I Don't know where they are up to re Aust approval of the Reevu Helmet with the built in rear vision mirror ,But I'm waiting till then before buying my next helmet .Apart from the mirror they are supposed to be very quiet & resist fogging excessively .

I went to the shop with the largest range and got fitted buy and older staff member who took the time to make me try on every helmet brand there with all the cons and pros. I had my heart set on a new trick looking Shoei X Twelve. After he found the best fitting helmet for my head, i was hating that it was'nt the one i had my heart set on. I went away to think about it, thinking that i would prob just get the one i wanted anyway. After some time i realised that, hey, its your bloody head fool.....of all the protective equip you've bought, why should i not have the best protection for my most important part of my body?? After realizing that im so glad i went to the trouble of getting fitted for all those helmets and the top service and advice i got and went and bought the helmet the bloke had said fit the best-and i knew it did by a long shot to. The melmet for me was the Shoei X Eleven. Best advice i could give.....Hope it helps.
