my (dearly departed) best mate had this same prob with 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears on his 750 (pop-up h/light) Katana. He really used to flog the absolute crap outta it, especially when stone-cold (not in any way suggesting that your prob has been caused the same way - I know your bike is your princess


A year or so later, the dealer that my mate originally bought it off that ALSO did ALL the repair work, wouldn't even take the bike as a trade-in, knowing all the punishment that my mate regularly gave it!
IMHO, try to get it checked out ASAP, to save yourself an even BIGGER repair bill later!
