We have about 1500 members, but it is all but impossible to work out how many are active. Whenever I get some spare time I go through and clear out members that either have no posts (and are more than three months old), or people with very low post counts who haven't been active in more than six months. It is a very inexact science. We also had a bit of trouble just before Christmas where we had a lot of international sign-ups that were spammers. I think we got rid of the worst of those. Just look for the regular names and you get to know who is active.
