Unfort we have all the modules off and still the same although we are uploading via ftp at the moment.
Usually tho, its more simply the host trying to get you to pay more for what they offered in the way of bandwidth, but arent able to supply economically, so they use the old cpu trick.
Could be the case
I note this site shares with a least 80 others on the ip, who knows how many jammed on the server. Do you have direct access to the sever stats ie WHM, or are they just telling you this?
No we can see the indicator is in the red all the time in Cpanel
On the unpleasant side, and I have no experience with this particular forum software, but a lot of these open source ones either have, or had lots of vulnerabilities re injections of malware, usually rerouting porn through an insecurity. Check youve got latest version and do a malware scan on the public_html dir, theres a few programs around that do this.
We did find something removed it still the same. This is why we have now done a clean new install.
I have used similar open source programs, been hacked maybe 5 times now, usually not noticably either.
Have a good look at inward links in the stats, see if theres lots of unrelated incoming links.
I eventually moved my site to unshared, costs more but less hassle.
Apologies if you know all this already.
Appreciate any help from techies out there.
Thanks Davegc
