For your info and circulation to Aussie colleagues.

Point 4 suggests the changes will have no impact on long term expats unless you have a spouse living in Oz with a residence, etc. For those on a short gig overseas, or a family back home, it would appear there is no longer going to be a tax benefit to the assignment (unless you have agreed on a net rate in a high tax rate country, or are in a tax equalization scheme).
Add this to the strong AUD, and going overseas has never looked so unattractive!
