A new oil pan is $230 + $16 for the sump gasket. I was thinking of using a helicoil to repair it, but not to sure if they have a helicoil for that size. Has anyone had this problem, and what fix did you do on it?

Any info will help. Thanks.

There would be a helicoil to suit. Other options including welding it up and retapping it, or tapping it out to a larger size and machining/finding a suitable plug.
I know in adelaide there is a company that specializes in thread repair, I would imagine there would be similar in other states.
