It boils down to rider ability, even if the guy in front backs off at a legal 80km/h, the guy in front has already dealt out the humiliation. So in a street traffic light race, even a turbo won't help you if you cannot get it off the line smartly. Lucky the guy on the 14 wasn't Leonard, or the gap would have been more than a few metres! Give the wallet a rest, practice is the best thing. Try this; launch as hard as you dare and at the same time count "one thousand two thousand" look down at the speedo and it should be passing throught 80km/h. 2 sec to get to 80km/h is good, if you are slower than 80 km/h at 2 sec, then choose your opponents carefully or be prepared to get spanked by a better rider.
