The reason this has been posted on a public forum,is because we want as many members as possable to know if there is a ride on.Sure we dont have to post where the ride is going to, just the meeting details. Its fine to have you little breakaway groups,to do you weekday rides and rides with your own particular buddies, but i thought it would be good to get 10 or so busas together once a month,to do a CLUB ride.Is that too difficult?Maybe it is,i dont know? Phuck its the phantom!
As I've posted before Rocketman. The winter hibernation is almost over.
There will be more gatherings just like it happens every year. Some rider just don't get out much during the cooler months.
Was out at Yea today. It was deserted???
I did get rained on going home, so that explains that. Some rider just have more sense than me!!!
Yet 2 weeks ago (it was warmer) it was bumper to bumper bikes..........................
We've had more than 10 Busas before at Yea. And I reckon we'll do it again real soon.
Cheers,
You hit the nail on the head Rocket.
We and others are sick of posting rides and trying to boost the clubs enthusiasm , which in turn encourages people to join the club, thats why I posted the question of this topic.
I was unaware that it had been done so many times before.
It's a shame to have to go elsewhere to ride with a group .
But we must do what we must do!
Ok, I know that I have not been in the club for very long, and that I don't attend nearly as many rides as I would like but hold on for a sec. I think that I make an effort to be involved with club activities to a point but I can't be there every time, even though I would like to be.
Please don't stop posting rides or being active on the board.
For me personally, I have a young family which has to be number 1, and to be honest I don't fancy leaving them and riding down to town every week or to go out on a ride in the pissing rain. Sometimes these decisions are made at a late stage. Thats the way it is. Surely the fact that the weather has been for the last few months whould come into the equation.
I get what is saying about lack of enthusiasm in the club but I don't see how not approaching this from a positive angle can be constructive. I'm not saying that people shouldn't ride with another group, that is of course your call. My point is perhaps the lack of attendance is more a result of peoples other commitments as opposed to a lack of enthusiasm. This is my reason anyway.
I just want to thank everyone that has welcomed me into the club without judgement. I am proud to be assosiated with a club that is so highly regarded in motorcylcle circles for its friendly and open nature. (from an outside source). It has been an excellent source of information in regards to the setup and modifications of my bike and has allowed me to get in contact with people that can do the job, i.e. Petes Pitstop, It has also stopped me making 'typical' mistakes that I would not have been aware of. This has undoubtably saved me big .
I will of course make every effort to attend club rides. I think it is a great idea to have a regular monthly or bi-monthly ride but I also read and consider each ride that is posted on the board. I know that I have written this post from a personal angle and it is not because I think that anyone has commented about me directly, but I can only give you my individual reasons.
Let's let the club grow, not shrink. The members that have been here through the years have obviously persisted with it for a reason, and have done a stirling job.
Bring on Summer!!

Valid points all round chaps, life nowadays can be a balancing act particularly with regard to family & personal time etc.
My kids left home years ago so I've only got the wife to contend with but I understand where you blokes are coming from with young family's to consider. I'd be doing exactly what you are doing & put them first. If you can squeeze a ride in now & then well & good, if you can't right now, that's ok too.
Over the past 4-5 years I have been on many club rides & enjoyed them all, met some interesting people, so yes, I got involved & got something out of it. On my first ride I just tagged on the back & had a look at what was going on & got a feel for it. It was then that I realised that although the bikes have changed dramatically, the same good feelings & cameraderie I enjoyed from group rides decades ago still existed today

Bravo Guys.
Roll on warmer weather and some free time to ride.
Cheers,

ok... After I do this race on the little 110, I'll be up for any ride, any weekend, as long as it ain't raining, you guys gotta show me some roads down here!!
When I would ride with the NSW club it was good, every month with out fail a ride was planned! Why don't we start there ? "Busa riders always count in three's.... 100, 200, 300"

Show you some roads, you can bet on it RaZ Cheers,
Bazoo.
So it appears we are doing nothing wrong now guys!
Now just wait for the and some free time.
Another week day ride could be on the cards next week Bazoo. See how the pans out.
Are you available for mid week rides Raz???
Cheers,
The consensus of opinion indicates that a monthly run on a specific day is the way to go. As my circumstances stand at the moment I can fit in with whatever is decided so it would be better if the younger membership got together & nominated the 3rd sunday, 1st sunday or what best suits the majority ?
Another thing too, it's not a good idea to get on here & tell the whole world where you're going. Indeed, some of those cunning Ulysses boys have coded destinations & routes so only they know what's going on
Anyway, sort it amongst yourselves & let's know what you come up with !

Sundays would be a perfect day for me to attend a club ride. How about the rest of you?
Gdy, midweek ride is a go...
Ok,it seems a few are interested in doing a club ride ,once a month and prolly a sunday. What say we discuss this at one of our wed night meetings and get the wheels turning?
I would be only too happy to organise rides, but as you know,i cant do much till i get my license back.Would anyone else be interested in organising rides?Even that can be a shared thing as different people can organise to do a ride in their own favorite part of the world.
Volvi,as being a proclaimed president of the busa club, what is your slant on this?I know you have your own group that you like to ride with,as we all do,but what say you organise a CLUB ride one day?My ears are open to suggestions........... Phuck its the phantom!
Volvi..... Volvi, where are you???
Ok, in that case I am happy to put my hand up to organise a ride. How does Sunday the 30th sit with everyone? Or whenever you are able .
I would appreciate any suggestions y'all might have as I haven't done this before but I guess the norm would be a ride starting at about 9.00am, somewhere booked for a light lunch at about 12, then ride again from 1-4 ???
What I would say is that I will make this a 'rain, hail or shine' ride. I figure if we are going to make a commitment to having regular rides we should take whatever comes. or
Like I said, any suggestions would be appreciated.
Probably best if you e-mail destination/route ideas to mountrob@hotmail.com for obvious reasons.
Let's give it a crack and see what happens.
Cheers,
Bazoo.
Enough talking, Let's ride !!Edited by: Bazoomatic at: 12/10/05 8:40 am

Good on you Bazoo, good to see someone put their hand up.
I wont be able to attend till after nov the 15 as that when the license comes back, wooooohooooo!
I hope that you get a good response. Phuck its the phantom!
Good luck guys. Up north we ride last Sunday of each month normally. That way you know it's coming and then you can plan for it. Ususally we pike if it's bucketing down but that rarely happens. Either that or we schedule the ride to Warragamba (Sydneys water catchment area) where it never rains.
Go on, get out there guys, the things were made to be ridden.
Regards
Graham
