No probs Bill. if your using scotch lock connectors Bill
Give em the flick and solder connect the Tach wire and go to the main chassis for your earth and all should be sweet.
Just as a test Bill you could run temporary wire direct to battery pos and neg ..................it will confirm where your prob is

I used the earth bolt on the steering stem where you told me to so I dont think the earth is the problem but there were so many + wires coming out of the plug I have no idea on which one I pluged into will haveto pull the panel off again and check on my disc for a wiring diagram and see what the hell i pluged into no biggie really it still lights up when it is suppose to I just have a disco at low rpm's

Place a warning with those bling bits mate damn my fingertips are throbbing Regards Bill

I think I fixed it today. Got home earlier than I thought so I had a go and did this...

It was connected at the blue arrow, so I re-connected it at the red arrow

It seems to work okay now, though I haven't taken it for a long ride. Looks like heat and rain tomorrow, so I'll take the Volvo to work, but will be back onthe Busa and let you know if there are any dramas, though I doubt it...

Pan you should go to the main frame for earth, get away from the fairing bracket as at least one of the bolts that hold it to the frame at the headstock is rubber insulated, therefore is not a real good grounding point at the best of times. a good earth with a constant 12volts and your probs are over.

Thanks Pete. I'll try it as it is and see how it goes for now.

Bill, it was the yellow/blue... (not the red)

Bill,
On the right side pull the fairing/dash trim panel and you will see an accessory plug, the wire is very short so it may be tucked up behind the fairing frame. this plug has fused ignition controlled power and earth. From memory the earth was black. Thats where we got power from but we ran out of thin male connectors so didnt use the earth side. I also run my heated grips from here. Bruce
