Rump hump

Has anyone put a seat pad onto the rear hump? I'm not too keen on modifying the standard seat, but was thinking about some sort of racer-like pad, but better finished and permanently attached to the hump (around 30mm or so thick).

To clarify. You want to sit on the hump? Or put a pad on the forward face of it?

Neither idea seem very useful or comfortable....

Have you undone the hump and seen how light weight it is? I can't see it taking alot of pressure...

The latter, just something to resist the backward slide under hard acceleration.

I don't think there would be that much pressure. It would just make things a bit more controllable when giving it the 'berries' in the lower gears. There are custom seats around that have a sort of raised roll at the rear, but I don't like the look.

Ah now I understand what you want it for.

I have a Tobin seat from the states and it has a raised bit at the back which helps alot with the same problem.

Wanted to do something like that myself and I have seen a picture of a seat with a little cushion at the back that was detachable to it. It was a member's bike Maj I think. Check the galleries. I'll look through my pictures and if find it I'll post it later.

Cheers for that. I reckon it could even be attached with velcro, so no holes or strong glue needed.

Found it! Yeap mate, I think it is attached by velcro and it looks like it does the good job of support for hard accceleration. I am going to get one for myself as well as soon as I find someone who can do it.

Sadly I'm not very artistic or adept with sewing machine etc. Attached is an attempt to show the simple sort of thing I have in mind, at most its two or three inches thick (50-75mm).
