It's never occurred to me to remove the guages - I've only done that with the nose off and must have decided they didn't come off any other way. Nose removal may not be necessary, but it's good to get into your bike and see what's going on - Dale got all that extra cleaning done that he would never have seen.

The only other advice I've ever given for bulb replacement is to learn how to do it with your eyes shut lying on your back, because that's how you'll be doing it in real life on the side of the motorway. But now I can see how taking the gauges off just might be a little better.
