Headlight bulb - Dale - 29-03-2011 Hey guys .. Can someone please help out a goose who can't work out how to get to the headlight bulb. I can see the bugger through the glass, but it don't come out that way .. Thanks .. Dale RE: Headlight bulb - big kev - 29-03-2011 just shot you a PM mate RE: Headlight bulb - bazman - 29-03-2011 Dale, from memory....I think there is two (...or maybe juz one...not enough b/cells workin' here ATM) latch-style clips holding it in from behind....get someone with really small hands to reach up from underneath and unclip them.....the h/light assembly base should then pull straight out the back..... RE: Headlight bulb - ROD - 29-03-2011 Remove the Splash plate above the Front Guard 6 push clips first RE: Headlight bulb - Throwdown! - 29-03-2011 Remove and replace the nose a few times until you enjoy it. It's overkill, but changing the bulb with big hands is a pain not worth going through. Besides, you don't have to change the bulb that often and removing the nose is one of those jobs that brings you closer to your bike. :) RE: Headlight bulb - RYDRZ - 30-03-2011 .......................... RE: Headlight bulb - ROD - 30-03-2011 Now that your bike is in many pieces you should be able to find the light RE: Headlight bulb - bazman - 30-03-2011 (30-03-2011, 07:59pm)ROD Wrote: Now that your bike is in many pieces > > > > > ......don't ask US to help put it BACK TOGETHER!!!!!! RE: Headlight bulb - Madmax - 01-04-2011 You guys are priceless! RE: Headlight bulb - Timmy_0_T00l - 02-04-2011 or you could just buy a new Busa RE: Headlight bulb - #CAS# - 02-04-2011 Dale, the easiest way is to remove the nose, you will get full access to it. 1-Roll back the mirror rubbers, undo the bolts holding them on. 2-Un bolt the upper infill panels, do not forget the 1 in front of the ignition switch. There are also a couple of push pins do not forget them. 3-Undo the 3 bolts on either side fairing. 4-The nose should now be held on by the pins behind the dash. Stand at the front of the bike with the wheel between your knees, hold onto the nose and pull towards you, do not pull all the way away from the bike as there is wiring attatched. 5-The wiring loom has a plug, just un plug it and you are good to remove the nose completely. 6-Place the nose headlight side down on a towel or something else that wont scratch it. 7-You will be able to see the back of the headlight clearly. Unplug the wires from the respective globes, remove rubber boot. There is a wire holding clip, squeeze it together to remove it. The globe is now free to remove. 8-Put new globe in. To put it back together do everything in reverse. Hope it helps. RE: Headlight bulb - Dale - 02-04-2011 Thanks for all ya help fellas I just removed the 5 plastic push clips (and the 1 rusted capscrew with nyloc nut just to make it tricky) and removed the splash plate .. I had half of the princes hwy stashed on top of the splash plate (rocks, gravel, insects ..). Then poked and prodded until something came out .. luckily it was the globe. All good now .. except the plastic pushclips are now all shagged. Can I get these anywhere else rather than my local rip off suzuki dealer ?? Cas .. thanks mate for the nose removing info .. I've printed this bit out for future reference Thanks guys .. and a big thanks to BK RE: Headlight bulb - bazman - 02-04-2011 (02-04-2011, 04:33pm)Dale Wrote: .. RE: Headlight bulb - #CAS# - 02-04-2011 Dale, go to Metropolitan spares at Silverwater, they have 1000's of clips and screws. Tell them you are from the Busa club, they take care of us pretty well. http://www.motorcyclewreckers.com/ RE: Headlight bulb - RYDRZ - 03-04-2011 .................... |
