What sort of club do I want?

One where anyone can say anything they want and be ridiculed by their peers if their comments are stupid or biased or bigoted, where there is freedom of sppech and most moderation is done by fellow members.

Eventually the foolish and stupid bury themselves.

Pretty much a club like we have right now, it is well managed and moderated, there is the occasional stupid post and those are hammered by the sane rational members.

Why change? if a post becomes too offensive it gets closed down, I have not seen one lately that was unfairly moderated.

If we ban all of the rednecks and bigots and all behave like angels then this place will become as boring as batshit. Variety is the spice of life why change anything at all.

Only if you go looking for it Throwdown, you can find anything if you look hard enough, even comment like you have just made, I tend to ignore political or biased comments after all it is a bike forum, every forum has the same crap creep in whatever the tilt

So what do we want from this forum is the big question hosted by heidi whom is an intererial part of this forum same as simmo,bruce,pan,nigel,babybusa,1hotbusa,and all the other contributeing members here are great people . i would think we would want a fourm is a place where we can be open to all members we can have a free thourt and share them with our members whom are scattered over this great big land we call home.thats what i would want from a forum a place to share bits n peices,bullshit,and info that helps our members , i came here over 2 yrs ago cause i feel head over heals with my bike and im nuts about it . and i was accepted into this forum openly and i meet some of the greatest people that i can call freinds and we share a common love , passion what ever you want to call it for our bike/s (some members whom own 2 busa's are just fukin greedy ) you dont have to like or agree with what a member posts up here i dont agree with some of the stuff so i just read it and leave it ,

I agree with BK, I've been here for a while know, gleaning information and contributing when I can though nothing like some of the others who have great knowledge or services to provide. I have been very amused as well as very disappointed by some comments and thats fine thats what free speech is all about. I understand that every one has their own opinion and values so if a different opinion or value is offered on the forum I will read it consider it, learn from it or reject it we have that choice. We are a privileged few being Hayabusa riders of a privileged minority being motorcycle riders. Lets appreciate what we have and go for a ride. Life is to short to be offended by something we can just reject.

There is no point in reporting behaviour that is not intentionally offensive. If it is meant personally, by all means report it, but if you've taken offence to someone's point of view in general terms, swallow some concrete and harden up. Otherwise stay indoors, sell your bike, and don't read any newspapers or watch any TV...otherwise you may be offended by someone's personal opinion. Some people have abrasive personalities (not saying anyone here is...even though there may be the odd one or two) but why is it their fault....you are at fault equally by taking offence so quickly.
This is a motorcycle specific club...can we please get back to Hayabusas???

They are beginning to call WA the 'nanny state', over policed by stupid laws etc. Maybe we could start a 'nanny' thread with anything other than please or thank you blanked out and all the namby pambys could chat there. We all share a common interest and that's why we are here. Most of use like to give and get given in return a little ribbing. Does that make us sexist, racist, religious intolerant s ............ NO. I come here for ideas and information plus a good laugh. I have not seen or been offended by any content I have seen to date. Great Forum!!!

Hang on! I'm on here minding my own business. I've got better things to do than sit on a computer looking for hate. There are sites for that if that's what floats your boat, but it is meant to be about bikes on here.

How do I go looking for it? I bought a busa, then came on here because it's the principle site in Australia for information on the bike, but then every once in awhile someone unexpectedly writes crap on a thread about women, gays or ''turban heads'' (the last straw for me).

If that's 'looking for it' then you've proved my point - the only way for me to not 'look for it' is to stay away, because I'm classed as 'mamby, pamby' if I object to it. It's not 'mamby pamby' to expect good manners and respect from fellow human beings. Or maybe on here it is!

This stuff is spewed out presumably because some expect it to be okay amongst like-minded company. Well... we're not all like-minded that way, so if this is to be a red-neck site, tell the rest of us not to come back. If not, then object to the bigotry.

There have been serious breaches of racial vilifiction, invasion of privacy and out and out bullying by a select few members over the past few years.

If that behaviour is tolerated in the name of hardening up and laughing it off by other members as normal day to day life, the actions of those people are condoned.
They should not be in any way and there is no justification in the victims having to put up with it or leave.

Right is right and wrong is wrong. Tolerating the wrong is simply bowing to peer pressure to evade the true issues.

Guilt and self esteem usually control normal civilised actions but for a select few, they disrespect the norm in the name of humour.
This is what causes the victims to simply stay away.

Hear Hear. May I also add something else that moderates aberrant behaviour by social misfits; a smack in the mouth. Something you can't quite manage on a forum.

Rod, It was your actions that lost you your job as an admin.
Stop trying to lay the blame on me.
At every time I behaved within the guidelines that we were set as admins.
The reason I passed actions to others was because I was personally involved in the situations and had no right to be a participant in the process.

Its about time you took responsibility for your own demise and stopped blaming others for it.

I have no beef with you but you just cannot let sleeping dogs lie. Build a bridge mate or you will be a misery guts all your life.
