enjoy bruce. from what i've read the head won't need much touching as they breathe a lot better than the stock gen 1's heads that have been done up. ie when someone gets a port job and clean on a gen 1 head you will end up with a gen 2 stock head which is something suzuki have done.
happy to be corrected as one day i will get mine off the bike.
you also forgot to mention the box of goodies in your shed planned for it. YEEHA!

both heads will flow the same once ported.
the gen 2 flow better stock to begin with so require less work.
Correct both gen heads will have similar flow once ported however the quality of porting makes an enormous difference. I had an interesting conversation with Carpenter racing last night. This build just got a lot more expensive.
What an incredible recovery his smile at the end is beautiful.
