i sized em up last night and they look very similar migh mean a little modification to the screen but ill see how it goes.

How do you tint a screen gloss black?

Is it something you do yourself or does someone specialise in that work?

Probably a dumb question but can't you buy them in dark colours?

Not this particular screen, no. This is the actual Suzuki "accessory" screen, and it only comes in a light smoke tint. Likely enough, there will soon be aftermarket screens available for the K8 that are fairly dark tint.

How I did this tinting:

Since I never, ever look through the screen (even tucked in at speeds well over the Ton), I simply shot the underside with gloss black paint. This was done after:

1) buffing up the underside of the screen with a medium-coarse steel wool pad. This, so the paint will adhere better.
2) a tedious and painfully long taping exercise to mask off the outer edge (lip) of the screen, and of course the front of the screen itself.

End result looks pretty stealthy.

Has anyone sussed out a high profile or double bubble screen for the K8.

I'm 6'4" and can't see the indicator lights so have to change mine.

I am 6'3" and yes the screen is too low for me as well.
If I lie flat on the tank then the screen works but really its not that comfy for long.

Ran in the same problem that the new screen is not available in South Africa. Based on a tip in this forum I got hold of Bombay who has posted me the new screen.

I am 6'3 and have installed the new Suzuki screen.
Not that great!

Its better in the middle but the air now hits my shoulders.
In fact its so bad I get a shudder over 220 kph.
Its outright dangerous.

The original screen was safer at higher speed.
Hope the after market makers come up with a better solution.
