Having finally got the cash together for my Busa, Frith are insuring me for $808. (Yes I stated that I would be using it for commuting!!..2002 model)
WARNING ABOUT WESTERN QBE 14 months ago I had my CBR1100 XX stolen. My solicitor is still chasing QBE for the payout. Fill in your proposals VERY VERY carefully. My solicitor has said that they have a well known reputation for trying to avoid any payments but nevertheless eventually they do have to pay. Without going into the details....yes my proposal was inaccurate but the reasons they got me on were absolute technicalities. Guess that is why they are in the insurance business BUT watch those details. Still owe $7500 and was without a bike for 14 months....... (Yes I'am over 40 but remember you are only as young as the person you are feeling....whoops!!)

Insurance. The dreaded nesassary evil.
Because I hadn't had insurance with Swann for just over 12 months they wanted to put me from rating 3 to a rating 6. (Right!) If you get stuck try GIO, they were pretty good with me. But you will pay the price. Hope this helps. It is a good topic. (Even though it sucks!) Regards Phil.

Rang up and got a quote for insurance on the busa and got a 'special' price. Since I have a good record and no convictions, am over 35 years of age, been a rating one driver for as long as I can remember, only rider etc.
They finally send out the forms, I fill them out and send them back with payment etc. They get back to me in writing a few days later. My premium has gone up by 10% and my excess has almost doubled! Why? Because I told them of a speeding fine I received. 63K in a 60 zone! I now have a conviction! This conviction is in place for 5 years. Yes they were the cheapest......BUT

You speed demon, you. Obviously a menace on the roads, and a high risk.

Just signed up with suncorp.... Yes thats right "Suncorp Insurance". They are the new guys in the bike insurance game and are offering competative rates.
I am 31 with a clear traffic history..rating 1 and a memeber of various clubs, I signed up for $850 bucks. About time too....I had policies with swann & QBE and have paid enough premiums over the years to buy another bike outright. Cheers Ardvark
