OK, at the risk of being flamed here we go..

Oils are oils if they met the specification for your bike which for Hayabusa is 10w40 API SG or SH and are from a reputable manufacturer. The only reservation is oil conserving oils which are xW30 weight and not recommended anyway.

Many riders have a preference based more on emotion than any science so there are many "best" oils. Unless you are doing regular oil analysis between the competing brands you do not know how the oil is performing. The oil cos change their formulations occasionally anyway.

Zinc levels of around 1600ppm are meant to be ideal for bikes but only in severe wear environments which usually do not occur in normal riding. The zinc level relates more to the length of time it protects not the degree of protection. And too much zinc can create its own problems.

In contradiction to this zinc is only one of many antiwear additives an Zinc levels are being reduced. One oil co chemist I spoke to said that other additive packages have been formulated to replace the diminishing zinc.

If you are interested in more I have written a thread on oils with some research and coments from oil co chemists.

Hope this reassures any with concerns about which brand of oil.

Cheers
