I got a new personal best yesterday for my 1000rr drag bike at the Mackay All Bike Drags in QLD.

I ran a 10.125 @ 136.83mph (1.733 60ft)

Previously it was a 10.25 @ 134mph

(I did a few 10.1's too)

I'm getting closer to my 9.99 goal. Regards
Grant

Brilliant effort Grant.

What are you aiming to do to get into the 9's?
Is it just a matter of practice, practice, practice, or do you plan on suspension mods, etc...?

Thanks Dave.. hopefully not to long away..

Pan.. I have given myself boundries that I can't do to the bike..

Such as I can in no way touch the motor (no PC or aftermarket filters) The motor has to remain completely stock and un touched. Same with the exhaust.. all standard.

I have allowed myself to make the bike lighter / use race glass. I have lowered the front 2" and rear by 3". I am running std gear ratio

and I must run a street tyre. and pump fuel..

I have tightened the rear suspension up and the front is still stock settings.. I have no instrument panel.. but a shift light is being fitted this week.

Thats all I'm doing to the bike.. so it's up to me now to drop around .150 sec.

I think if I can get into the 1.60 ft's.. i got a real chance at 9sec run.. Cheers.Grantwww.blingpartsaustralia.com.au

What do you mean by Tightened?

If you mean stiffened are hardened, you are going the wrong way! There are strut bikes that work alright but a bike based on a streeter needs the rear suspension softened not hardened.

Read what Brock Davidson has to say about it and his other articles, they are Busa based but it applies to all types of bikes.

Hi Grant

That thingy at the base of the shock is the Preload adjuster, needs to be backed off.

Not sure if you know about the Psychobike site, may find some info on the CBR there to help you set it up, mostly GSXR's and ZX10's though

psychobike.com

Great work on the 10.1 by the way.

cheers Shayne.. will check it out when I get home...

I think if the CBR was setup perfect... I'd drop a tenth or 2.
