smashing records day - MacBusa - 13-08-2006 I got a new personal best yesterday for my 1000rr drag bike at the Mackay All Bike Drags in QLD. I ran a 10.125 @ 136.83mph (1.733 60ft) Previously it was a 10.25 @ 134mph (I did a few 10.1's too) I'm getting closer to my 9.99 goal. Regards Grant www.blingpartsaustralia.com.au My pride and joy Re: smashing records day - CAS3234 - 13-08-2006 Looking good Grant, the 9's are not too far off now. Dave Re: smashing records day - pan - 13-08-2006 Brilliant effort Grant. What are you aiming to do to get into the 9's? Is it just a matter of practice, practice, practice, or do you plan on suspension mods, etc...? smashing records day - MacBusa - 13-08-2006 Thanks Dave.. hopefully not to long away.. Pan.. I have given myself boundries that I can't do to the bike.. Such as I can in no way touch the motor (no PC or aftermarket filters) The motor has to remain completely stock and un touched. Same with the exhaust.. all standard. I have allowed myself to make the bike lighter / use race glass. I have lowered the front 2" and rear by 3". I am running std gear ratio and I must run a street tyre. and pump fuel.. I have tightened the rear suspension up and the front is still stock settings.. I have no instrument panel.. but a shift light is being fitted this week. Thats all I'm doing to the bike.. so it's up to me now to drop around .150 sec. I think if I can get into the 1.60 ft's.. i got a real chance at 9sec run.. Cheers.Grantwww.blingpartsaustralia.com.au Re: smashing records day - simmo - 13-08-2006 Good stuff Grant New PB are always good Knocking on the doors for nine's now its so close but also so far, good luck Cheers Robert Aren't all Busas Copper & Plated, the others are just all very poor slow ugly copies !!!!! Re: smashing records day - aBUSa - 13-08-2006 What do you mean by Tightened? If you mean stiffened are hardened, you are going the wrong way! There are strut bikes that work alright but a bike based on a streeter needs the rear suspension softened not hardened. Read what Brock Davidson has to say about it and his other articles, they are Busa based but it applies to all types of bikes. www.brocksperformance.com/tech_suspension.htm Shayne smashing records day - MacBusa - 13-08-2006 ah yes.. sorry... i mean hardened.. i have turned the ring thing on the bottom of the spring so the spring is harder.. the bike actually feels real good like this.. i'll read that link now.. cheers. Cheers.Grantwww.blingpartsaustralia.com.au smashing records day - Fat Busa Racing 1347 - 13-08-2006 I better pull my finger out, you'll be all over me soon Cant wait for us to get to the track together and have a go Are you going to come down for the all bike at Benarby, still got room for your bike we are going to have to lay down some times for the BrisVeags boys to beat Regards Richard When the Clutch Drops the Bull Shit Stops smashing records day - MacBusa - 13-08-2006 don't worry Richard... you'll always be chasing me down on the strip with that big block.. Cheers.Grantwww.blingpartsaustralia.com.au smashing records day - aBUSa - 14-08-2006 Hi Grant That thingy at the base of the shock is the Preload adjuster, needs to be backed off. Not sure if you know about the Psychobike site, may find some info on the CBR there to help you set it up, mostly GSXR's and ZX10's though psychobike.com Great work on the 10.1 by the way. Shayne smashing records day - MacBusa - 14-08-2006 cheers Shayne.. will check it out when I get home... I think if the CBR was setup perfect... I'd drop a tenth or 2.
