I fabricated a removeable centre stand the fits via two short bolts to a threaded centre section that fits up where the factory centre stand is supposed to go, (gen 1). I simply lift the bike with the rear race stand, remove the little under faring, bolt the stand to the bike and gently lower it down. The stand can't fall off as it is bolted on and it raises the bike off the ground by about 50mm. This allows access to either wheel and the forks. At work now will take and post pics this arvo....it is dog ugly tho!!

As promised: the pics... as said its as ugly as a big ugly thing but a lick of paint should make it look better...but then again why bother?
The bolts are 10mm x 25 long and fit easily between the exhaust pipe that gets in the way of the factory stand spindle. I machined the bar welded on top to fit between the casting on the motor and threaded it both ends to take the bolts. I was going to redesign it from bent round tube but fkt the only bit of heavy tube I had up. The sticky out bits (technical term) ![]() Cheers Steve

I cannot possibly reproduce anything as ugly as this... its a one of a kind...but really its very easy to make the only measurements are 90mm between the castings for the bar and the whole thing needs to be 260 to 280mm high measured as a true height....(straight up and down) This will lift the wheels off the ground by 50 -70mm and if you wedge a block of wood under the sump while someone sits on the rear seat you get about 100mm + under the front wheel.

Hey Steve,
What are the odds that you have your original sketch/plan/napkin of the design for this? I really like the idea of fabbing my own stuff for only a few clams outlay. Reckon I could knock this up for a carton or two's value. Once again mate - top stuff. Cam

Havn't got any sketches ....all in my head, ( the voices told me what to do)... but I can measure up the bits and pieces and post a cutting list and do a sketch...be on tonite.

Mate that is a fantastic idea ![]() I would make mine Hoist friendly (Like the Hoist rod just got) How cool would that be being able to unclamp the front wheel & pivot the Busa on the hoist. Could tackle just about any job on the hoist ![]()

actually when I think back ,that is the way we used to stand up our speedway bikes[just without the bolt as you could just use the frame]

[attachment=10255]Sorry guys I tried posting a sketch and a pic but three attempts later the bloody thing still craps itself so I give up.
The stand has to be 270mm high and I used 30mm RHS for the sides. You can get rid of the base bits if you can be bothered to work out the angles to give a pyramid style stand...I couldn't be arsed! The top has to be 70 mm high by 94mm wide to miss all the bits and pieces under the motor and to fit up into where the factory stand will go. I ended up modding the top tube by cutting the shoulders off to miss those bloody stupid exhaust pipes...I was cursing the entire Japanese population and doubting their parenthood for while I can tell you! The LH bolt had to be modded too. I cut the head off a 40mm long x 10mm bolt and filed four flats on it. This is inserted through the LH hole from the inside of the casting so it ends up touching the LH exhaust. The stand is then lifted into position and this side bolted up first. The other side simply uses the 25mm bolt. Good luck to all who try this. No gaurantee implied or expressed...so if the thing collapses and your bike ends up on your head..........can I have your Yoshis??? ![]()
