i have probs with neutral to first.it does not matter weather its hot or cold or on slope or not.
i have done about 4000ks i,m still hoping it will get better.soon another service before i ride too bathurst busa bash.

just stick with it i guess slade seems they need running in time or maybe just maybe someone may actually believe us

Don't worry Cheeky and Slade I've got a White K8 which is my toy so don't do the K's like the rest of you but I've found that the gearbox felt very stiff between the gears especially 1st-2nd and then 5th -6th. I have noticed that the gearbox is starting to free up and shifting between the gears doesn't seem to such a big issue. Have to agree with Humbussa be firm as this seems to make the shift easier.

Sorry everyone, I'm not really up for a fight. I was referring to the many discussions about oils.
As can be expected, I recommend the oil suggested in the handbook.
It works a treat if there is nothing wrong with the bike.

Heidi forgive me for disagreeing with you.

It is recommmended that you do at least 6000k (some say 10,000) before changing to a full synthetic. Apparently the engine beds in better with regular oil (seems full synth is just too slippery). This is the recommendation of an oil co chemist (who also make full synthetic). This does not mean that if you use synth earlier you will have problems - but you may have.

Cheers

Steven

Here's one view that advocates no synthetic oil for the first 2,500kms (1,500miles). http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm
Like engine break-in procedures, oil selection can be quite a controversial issue. Personally, I choose to switch to full synthetic at 6,000. The guys who service my bikes generally switch to semi synthetic (eg Motul 5100) at 1,000kms unless you request differently. Each to their own.

I also have issues with gear selection but i am only up to 1500km on my new GenII.
If you have 2 years from new to break it then try your hardest, my missus cracked 30,000km on her gixxer 750 in her 1st 12 months and blew the ecu, fully covered under warranty (would have cost over 1200$) to repair. i am runnin mineral till 6k then switchin to a semi sythethic or maybe full. Of course if something start rattling you stop and check it, gotta be sensible about these things.

If the oil & clutch springs don't work-----fuc* it. Your a rich man, throw one of those Factory Pro shifter thingymajig things in it and a wide ratio drag racing gearbox. Or betta still, in addition to the wide ratio gearbox, bung a Pingel Easyshifter on it & no need for the Factory Pro thingymajig. Maybe the dealer never changed the oil. Remember, even bike dealers are experiencing Kevin Crudd's & Wayne Rectum Swan's so called financial crisis.
Do it yaself, don't bust the fairing!
