RE: Flash or pc - jamesallan - 09-11-2011 Just had mine flashed at Hills Motorcycles, Castle Hill For all you Sydney owners see Earl and who has the latest flash maps out. Mine runs brilliant now with new Yoshi system fitted. To my mind by flashing you are expanding the real engineered potential of a Suzuki ECU. RE: Flash or pc - bRoWnEyE - 09-11-2011 Interesting Version 2.5 RE: Flash or pc - BLACKZOOK - 09-11-2011 (09-11-2011, 09:24pm)jamesallan Wrote: Just had mine flashed at Hills Motorcycles, Castle Hill For all you Sydney owners see Earl and who has the latest flash maps out. Are we talking custom maps built for your bike on the dyno by someone who knows exactly what they are doing? Or something downloaded from the net? Sorry to be a sceptic but they are the guys who ripped me off. I wouldnt take my harmonica there to be tuned. I even refused to have the factory ignition recall done by these f*&^ing- clowns. Once bitten twice shy. RE: Flash or pc - fasterfaster - 09-11-2011 James I was going to ask by what you mean't "latest maps" as Flashing doesn't come with fuel maps (apart from the standard bin files) Editor simply is the program used to build and adjust fuel maps. RE: Flash or pc - Maj - 10-11-2011 Only other system out there capable is what the ecu hack guys in the US are doing its a closed system, tuner sends your ecu details and bike mods to the parent company, company sends a bin file to flash into the bike , same as they do to a lot of car stuff now, its tied up so the parent company gets a good cut of every use of its product RE: Flash or pc - GRUNTMAX - 10-11-2011 Me...flash n PCV with Wide Band Auto tune so can tune on road on AFR maps with a switch to retain map memory Handy for running different AFRs in different gears to gear and cylinder specific fuel maps(up to 24). Do not worry about the money, do both, then ride your bike to the dyno. Cylinder specific maps can easily be adjusted when using 4 x EGT sensors. However, so much for plans. My current status is a PCIII with cylinder specific fuel trimings & 4 x EGT sensors. Only mad people fit 4 x O2 Sensors RE: Flash or pc - jamesallan - 10-11-2011 Hi Faster, Info I received was that they had received updated maps for standard ECUs through Suzuki for Busa's with Yoshi pipes fitted. Quite happy with the results. However, we're only talking there about a slightly modded map with all the restrictions etc. left in. A long way from a full remap on a dyno and the other things you can do with the re-flash software. Very interesting RE: Flash or pc - Maj - 11-11-2011 Yosh box adjustment .... like comparing a butter knife to a Ninja sword RE: Flash or pc - fasterfaster - 11-11-2011 They always say be wary of the place on the hill ........... it's to easy for them to see you coming RE: Flash or pc - Steve46 - 11-11-2011 Pete (faster faster) flashed mine coulnt be happier. No piggy back system to fail Steve RE: Flash or pc - GRUNTMAX - 11-11-2011 (11-11-2011, 05:24pm)Steve46 Wrote: Pete (faster faster) flashed mine coulnt be happier. No piggy back system to fail Piggy back systems usually don't fail, except generally for 1 item being the wide band O2 Sensor that have an expected consumable hours life used to train & log AFR derived fuel maps. If it does fail, uplug it from harness & keep riding on your flashed map that you have previously trimmed yourself from AFR trimmed fuel map data. By the time your piggy back's wide band O2 sensor fails it won't matter cause you'll already have an almost perfect map in your bikes ecu done with ECU Editor. You know, a few days ago, my ignition coil cut push button up & down Pingel Easy Shifter started failing after 50,000kms from new, a few days later it was totally rooted, never mind, use ya foot, a bit painful on the 2 x DWDriver induced fractured upper vertabrae with heavy duty clutch springs though,... in a way, like unplugging ya piggyback ecu from the harness. Never mind order a new one, gets off a flight, US$876, on ya bike, & ya don't have to use ya foot or clutch no more. It's only money & it will keep you occuppied trying to work it all out which for some of us is a real challenge. RE: Flash or pc - TonyTripleA - 13-11-2011 You guys have convinced me... flash after the new pipes is the way to go. I'd love Pete to do the job but I'm in Sydney. Any recommendations on where to go in Sydney. I heard the guys at Motorcycle Weaponry at Mona Vale do a good job with their dyno (I'll ring em tomorrow and ask if they flash - er ECUs that is), I'm just down the road from them so that's also a plus if they are okay. I'm also keen on the 4-2-1 Akropovic pipes as they claim to give good low down torque as well as a good weigh reduction. Appreciate your wisdom! Pull your ECU out, post to Pete by Registered Mail @ Mona Vale Post Office. He will "flash" & post back. Plug it back in your bike, take to Motorcycle Weaponry with your new exhaust system, and even if they do not do the flashing yet, they should be able to put on dyno & trim up fuel map with PCV that you shouldn't need anyway, in which case, you'll only have to have the exhaust system fitted. |
